My taskbar icon for realtek keeps displaying "a jack has been unplugged", "a jack has been plugged in", and it won't stop...

I tried uninstalling the audio drivers and obviously downloading the latest ones.. besides system restore, anybody know how to make my speakers work? Could my speakers be bad? (built into l90d+ monitor)

TIA, i dont have any other speakers to try right now

open your realtek sound manager (the thing in the notification area of your taskbar)

select the connection sensing tab

click options

uncheck "Auto sense when connecting status is changed"

oh, no clue then. my last two motherboards that had realtek sound did that and i could disable the feature in the sound manager both times.

Select the Audio I/O tab, then you should see on the left a picture of the current setup and on the right the available connections. You should see a small circular buttom with the picture of a spanner, this is the options that jonathonball was referring to. The options are in there.

Ok so apparently i have a totally different realtek hd audio manager than everybody else, but i did find an information button that let me turn off the taskbar icon.

So great, i just put black tape over the check engine light.. now i have to figure out why I can't get sound
