Crucial Ballistic Tracer PC2-8000 w/Lights 119.99 AR ($40)

Does anyone know if they make a 1GB kit (512 x 2) of the PC-8000 Ballistix Tracer? I wanna get 3GB for my system.

Well I got my sticks in yesterday but I noticed there wasn't any packing slip. Did anyone else get one with theirs? It was just a huge yellow envelope with my box of ram. I tried to go to buy.com but since I used google checkout, it's not part of my buy.com history. I did print a receipt with google checkout that shows the dates... do you think that would be good enough for the rebate?

**Just sent an e-mail to Buy.com to see what they can do :)

Not sure how this turned out, but you should be able to use the receipt that's in your google checkout history. That is not an email confirmation, it is a receipt.

Yeah umm that sucks. The rebate form and crucial definitely state they want the packing slip and it clearly says no printed invoice is accepted.

Did I miss that? I saw where it said no email confirmations, but I didn't see anything about a printed invoice. That would be very odd, since there's generally very little (if any) difference between the invoice you recieve fand the one you print out from the purchase history.

Regardless, this deal is definitely hot. AR this is 1/3 of what it was running 3 months ago!

Yeah, I called crucial and they said it's okay for me to do that... I have the person's employee # and reference to confirm they recieved it in 30 days. YAY!

I dunno, the way I interpreted "sales orders confirmation emails will not be accepted" was to mean no printed invoice/email would be accepted. I sent packing slips for both of mine. I guess we will see.

I kept telling that to the person on the phone, but I guess they are making an exception. That's why they gave me the employ ID & reference. Heck, I am not going to sweat over it... lol. I just hope I get a $40 surprise in 8 weeks. haha

I understand. But they're talking about those emails that all the vendors send you when you place an order (order made, sent to warehouse, shipped and so no). I rarely keep packing slips if the company keeps a copy of it on file (e.g. Amazon, Newegg, Buy.com)

I will say I was surprised that my orders with google checkout didn't weren't on file with buy.com.

That was unexpected.

Got mine set a couple of days ago and there was a package slip. But I'm thinking about selling them because apparently the new AMDs (Phenom) uses 1066 pc8500 and these are just rated for pc8000. I'm sure these can hit 1066 easily, but I don't know how much more it can do past that.

I wouldn't base my memory purchase on the supposed details of a future processor, especially when you're talking about AMD since AMD's track record lately hasn't been keeping up with Intel's on releases. This RAM will have no problem running 1066Mhz and higher and if you wait to buy faster RAM down the road you may or may not get it for a price like this.

*sigh* I loved this ram so much, till one stick died... wasnt even overclocking or overvolting the ram. Will I still beable to get the rebate even if I RMA these sticks back to buy.com for replacement?

these from buy.com are the Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AL1005 - Retail?

That's the number that's on my box.
