680i shutdown temperature

just dawned on me that my evga 680i does not have a shutdown temperature feature...am I crazy...is it there and I am not seeing it?:)
 
As in the board shut down the computer when the processor gets to hot?

I swear I saw a setting for that in the BIOS. I cant remember where though, but I think I saw it there.

Just checked my BIOS and I couldnt find it. So either I was just imagining it or maybe they took it out with a recent BIOS version.
 
Isn't the CPU supposed to throttle itself to prevent reaching shutdown temps anyway?

Yep but its always nice to have a backup plan.

For example, you are working and your heatsink fans die's. Well the throttle will kick in, but its be nice if the motherboard goes ok im going to shut down this system since these temps are super high. That way it wont be throttling all day.
