I just want to get an idea cause I'm curious how devoted people still are to ATI, I really want to know when they are releasing any new $200ish cards.

I'm waiting for the 65nm offering later in the year, then I'll probably get one.

<-AMD homer

Already ordered one, with flames so even if it isnt fast it will still look like its doing 120fps sitting still

probably, although I find myself buying more nvidia cards then ATI, I'd just like to stick with ATI for now, less head aches so far

but I'm not in the markt at this point, my current card is fast enough for me with what I play, if I need something more powerfull down the road thats when I'll buy, not before I need, after

thats how I control myspending :D

I'll probably get one of their mid-end cards. I'm sure it'll beat out the 8600 no problem.

well, I never god damn thought I would have a Intel and AMD product in the same machine, the world is surely is about to end soon I gurantee it!

I probably will, though it doesn't mean I'm devoted. I simply want an Intel Mobo and the ability to run dual graphics cards, which kind of rules out nVidia (unless I feel like using hacked drivers, which I don't).

I'm waiting for reviews. And it's ridiculous that the XTX version is coming out so much later, but oh well.

I'll probably pick up the 2900XT soon because the price is about right for my budget, but we'll see for sure after some reviews come out.

My sapphire 1900xt 512 busted three months ago. I couldn't wait any longer, so I picked up a 2900xt already. Waiting on vista 64bit to arrive, then installing the 2900xt and my extra 2gig of ram - Crysis and Bioshock(among others) here I come.

Not sure yet since it seems that neither the 8800GTX or the 2900XT cards are going to be fast enough for DX10 (for high resolutions) from what I have been reading, but then again, all benchmarks up to this point have to be taken with a grain of salt.

DAAMIT needs to make a version of the 2900 with more ram than 512 for the consumer market. For those of us with 1080p and higher, 512 justr isn't enough these days.

For now, I think I am going to remain on the fence until I really see what these cards can do, especially in DX10, or simply wait until the fall.

It is fun watching you guys so anxious like a bunch of little boys that have to pee real bad pinching your weaners as the Janitor takes his time cleaning the bathroom.

I might.
Why
1 Strong Preference ATI/AMD
2 Avoid nV at a point it's 50% faster then not:)

Choice is easy.
Wich king (G80U) I don't care it's price percformace IQ and stability.
That's why I went for 8500 wenn GF4Ti ruled.
That's why I miss AMDTI Chip sets

Wenn depends on budged wich is known end may.
Upgrade 2 PC on 1 June.
2 large upgardes.
So maybe wenn crysis is out.
Accualy lookin out for HD2900XTX for it's 1GB mem.

Deside what to do end may. Because then I know more about releases to come and What's out then by ATI and it's reviews.

anyone know when the midrange cards are coming out?

tell me about it. I really want the 2400 or 2600. I have no use for a 2900. All I care about is the ability to playback HD video at 1080p (hdcp enabled), and having an hdmi out. Passive would be wonderful, but its not required.

i'm in

ill be getting the XT asap depending on how much better it is than my 1950xtx (or the xtx version depending on how soon its released)

I am leaning toward the HD 2600XT or pro... like most I am waiting for reviews. I also need to sit down and dig more into what DX10 games I will want during this generation of video cards. If there is nothing too compelling than I will go with a pair of X1950Pros. I want the internal connection but I fold a lot and am finding myself not playing games as much anymore. Crysis is sure pretty but I just don't know if it will be my kind of game. I Love HL2 and episode 1 but the more military-style shooters I just don't enjoy the story as much for some reason. I want one for sure but I just don't know if the price will justify it if I will not use all of the capabilities. I may just hang onto my 7600GT if the price of the X1950Pro does not fall to about $125... which I am sure it will....

SO my hand is half-way up.

The words look familiar, but I'm sure that isn't english. :p

I will probably get one unless my friend buys me a 8800GTX using his employee discount. Not sure how much it will be after discount though so I might still go with this.

I would buy the HD 2900XT when I have the money, the VR Zone review looks quite good.

Looking at the early reviews, this doesn't look like a promising part. Reminds me of X1800. Late to the party, not really the best at much, then three months later, a much better part, X1900 comes along.

I might pick up an AGP version of whatever DX10 part ATI will offer for an old Socket 754 I have runing Vista, but the 8800 really seems to outclass this part overall.

I'll be very intrested in the reviews, as I just don't see how there can be a lot of excitment over this part if the early news is right.

I can't believe how many people have already said that they've ordered it... To me, it sounds like drivers will be a saving grace for this card... Then once the drivers are in shape, the 2900XTX will come out, making the XT short-lived, just like the X1800 series... I'm considering one of their mid-range parts, but unfortunitly, rumor says that they're delayed, and won't be around until June...

Sorry if I missed it but which of the new cards will be midrange around $200ish and will it be out before the 21st or 22nd?

Yeah, it'll either be the top-end 2600 or, given what I've seen so far out of the reviews, might actually be a 2900XT. There was one benchmark for 1600x1200 COD that had the 2900XT neck and neck with the GTX. That was without AA on though, with AA on it dropped back down to much closer to GTS levels. If that drop turns out to be a driver issue that they successfully address rather than just a hardware limit/design limit I'm going to be hard pressed to pass up a performance deal like that.
