(most images are clicky)

After begging for a an invite I got this confirmation email image.
hardocp_invite.jpg

(notice the address?)

I drove from Sacramento to San Jose and rode up to San Francisco with my friend.

Gotta be 21 because of alcohol (free alcohol)

There was food.

There were 3 XBOX360 Elites raffled away. (my friend and I didnt win :( )

Kyle was there.

Oh yeah, AMD was there...(and Ruby)

Supreme Commander was not there, in its place was Prey (on a 3 pc network) and R6:Vegas

Projected on a wall, people were able to send text messages to be displayed. If you sent a message you got text'd back "Welcome, AMD knows you as:10xx A Smarter Choice!"

All attendee's were given gift bags.

some video 30.4MB

Hey, what's up. You're such a picture whore. I got Vista Ultimate retail in my gift bag. w00t

Vlad.

Thanks for taking pictures for us people who can't go  :p

edit- by the way, how are the r600?*2900xt*

It was a good time. Kyle is a total stud for making this happen. I think I had one too many captain and coke libations, and not enough spring rolls.

AMD guys were showing some very cool stuffs and they also proved very loyal to their products. I tried all night to get one of them to admit that they would consider a core2 for a personal box....no one bit.

Thanks [H]

Great pics, thanks for letting those of us who would've loved to attend take a look.

Hehe :p (on the trying to get them to admit to considering a core2, especially)!

Thanks to Kyle, AMD and all the people that showed up. I had a great time and really came to learn the meaning of "community".

As you know, there were 3 XBOX 360's given away. I was okay with not winning one because I was having a great time chatting with Kyle and meeting the locals. However, that doesn't mean I left without an ELITE 360. I didn't buy it and I didn't win it. I was GIVEN it by one of the other winners!

Yes, he was a member of the press, but with Kyle's direction he gave it to me. I was dumbfounded. I guess that Patron I tried to by for Kyle paid off. (I say try because it was open bar and all paid for by AMD.)

Anyway, thanks to all involved and a great event. See you at the next one!

You know I always have fun at quakecon when he's raffling off different high end pc hardware and also the different demonstrations he has. Kyle's a pretty cool guy when it comes to his community. But I'd of been all over that bar instead of the xbox ;)

I knew I should've went but went to a friend's house to watch the office instead :(

all i can say is THANKS to [H] And AMD for the event, tons of fun and lost of cool stuff, plus i walked out with a 360 ELITE and VISTA! Sweet deal for me!

I <3 1029!!!! you never replied to me!

WOW - this is really cool and thanks for sharing the pics, lol, picture whore!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

P.S. - I did not think that Kyle would look like that, but I think he looks pretty 'hardcore' if it makes sense...

thanks for the pics. Very thoughtful of you to share :)

Say, do I spot 4 PCI-e x16 slots on that mobo? Wow :D

damn,
i live in the city and didn't get an invite...looks like a fun time for all involved.

So was there anything that made you say "ZOMG WFT BBQ!! I'M BUYING A 2900XT ON MONDAY!!" ? What hardware was in the laptops?

^It looks nice. Ran in 720p with 4xAA. The level of detail is on a whole different level than the previous Ruby demos.

I also spoke with one of the AMD marketing folks and the address is indeed the real McCoy and it was a happy accident. He was the first at AMD to notice the address and point it out. :)

could someone explain to me what's the deal with the address.....:)

Hey ...wheres the the head dangling goat and topless women?

did they just have the one quadcore or what did the rigs have in them you were playing on?

I was led to believe all the rigs were quads and the one doing the cinebench test was two quads (as pictured with the green fans). Though Prey was on 12x10 (iirc) monitors and R6:V was on 16x12 streched on a Gateway 24.
