[H]ot Lava : Westinghouse 42" 1080p 1055$ shipped (woot)

Good, if someone else hadn't posted this I was going to do it.

You might want to add that it's a refurb though.

yeah I was thinking about posting this too, I'm gonna sleep on it, might get one in the morning if they are still there.

90 days, refurb...kills it!

Not to mention with 1440p TVs already coming to the market this is gonna be the higher end of the 1080p price range in less then 6 months, but thats tech.

i'm not sure about reselling, at least to make it worth it..

TBH, the thing that makes this is a great del, even for a refurb, is the fact that the shipping is only 5$.. (granted the price probably includes extra shipping cost in it)..

if you don't resell it locally, its the shipping that usually will kill it..

I am in california and for about 170 bucks more you can buy a new one shipped from buydig which is according to pricegrabber, cnet and resellerratings a good place to shop. Older firmware sets have had some nagging problems which include banding and some have had issues with their hdmi port just to name a few. I would also hate to have dead/stuck pixels. These refurb sets could be returns from the troubled sets and it could possibly justify buying a new one for 170 bucks more.

i like how the [H]ot lava thread was kept, and the Warm? thread was locked! i know why it was done, but it's funny to see them next to each other!!

anyways, hot deal, will be telling my pops bout this

1440p TVs are pointless, 1080p is plenty. You have to be sitting really close to a TV for 1440p to make any noticeable difference.

hell you have to be closer then 8ft to see the diff between 720p and 1080p on a 100" projector screen. Wonder what that translates to desktop.

I have seen someone bring the 36" version of this to a lan party and used it as his monitor and it kicked ass. That thing looks huge with him only sitting 2 feet from it. BTW he also played this XBOX 360 on it and it also looked sweet.

2 ft is too close for me. I have that monitor and I got headaches when it was closer than about 4-5 ft (use it as a computer monitor)
