10.4.9 is a long time coming and I'm glad to see it finally released, I could care less about iPhoto. Stupid space hogging useless App.

Anyway, go update your machines!

The release notes are here:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304821

I like the 'Third Party' section and the 'Other' section.

WoW updates, woot.

I've noticed my startup is faster by a fair amount.

Looks like Apple's Software Update servers are getting hammered at the moment...

I don't notice anything new either.

I downloaded the PPC Combo update at work earlier it took about 45 minutes, but the Intel update only took about 20 at home.

I noticed that my widgets disappeared and my volume got louder. But, I'm happy since it's one step closer to Leopard:D

I can't wait either.... b/c i'm waiting to buy a Mac period just for Leopard.

I'm waiting for Leopard to come out so I can buy a MacBook (along with updated MacBook specs). I can wait so it's no big deal.

I think it'll be so funny if the machines don't get updated when Leopard comes out, oh man, all that waiting...

You guys can only wait so long, if you need a machine, buy it, there's no use trying to get the latest and greatest because down the line it all gets replaced anyway, and it's not like these current machines are slouches...

I believe there is a high chance Apple will refresh their machines with the Santa Rosa chipset (Centrino Pro). Given that Bootcamp will have its first finalized version on Leopard launch, I am almost certain Apple would extend its capability to support Vista and along with it DX10, which leads us back to the Santa Rosa chipset. Also judging by the release dates of Leopard and Santa Rosa(late April/early May), if the refresh in hardware isn't immediate, it would be right around the corner. Lastly, given that the current Core 2 Duo Merome chips are bottlenecked by the Intel 945 Express chipset's FSB, Santa Rosa will uncap this bottleneck, and I would assume Apple would welcome the lift of this limitation.

Can we settle by saying that nobody really knows what Apple is going to do based on their secrecy marketing policy and that everybody should upgrade to iTunes 7.1.1 which was released a few minutes ago.

I concur!

Okay can someone tell me how to install iPhoto? I used to have 10.2.8 and I think I deleted iPhoto at some point. I upgraded to 10.4.9 and I still don't have iPhoto? I thought it came with OSX, am I wrong?

It comes with new macs, not necessarily with OS X

I photo is part of iLife. http://www.apple.com/ilife/

iLife comes bundled with all new machines, but not the OS itself, so you'd have to purchase iLife seperately with your OS upgrade.

KaosDG like... 1/2 beat me.

Oh I see, thanks guys.

NP. Know that iLife '07 hasn't been annouced as it is suspected that it relies heavily on Leopard interoperability for many of it's new features, so we'll likely be getting both announced at the same time.

Also, if you purchase a Mac this year; when they release iLife '07, if you go to an Apple Store with your receipt, you'll get a free copy of iLife '07 when it's released. Sadly I purchased my Mac in '06 so no such loving for me... but I'll be sure to get Leopard and iLife '07 when it's time.

I didn't keep my receipt :(

I didn't keep my receipt :(

You should have had one sent to the email address you provided at checkout both in-store and online, also Apple should be able to print another one at the store using your information; so it should not be problem.

So if you bought a Mac in '07 you can get iLife '07 for free when it comes out just by bringing your receipt to the store? Pretty cool, good thing I kept all my receipts. Will they do that for Leopard as well?

No, just iLife.

Once Leopard's true released date is annouced, if you buy a Mac between the day of the announcement and the release, you are elegible for purchase Leopard for $29.95.

new iTunes have Apple TV Tab in the Preferences. Other than that I see no difference in my machine.

I have a question. When ever i try to use MAC's media center, it says no pictures found on your shared network.

How the hell can i see the pictures, i media center.

Please help.
