sega.com has a poll on the main page of their site asking "Which SEGA game/character would you like to see return?" Right now Nights is at a commanding 59% lead (which is what I voted for as well). When a remake or sequel never released on the Dreamcast, and I read interviews how there wouldn't be a new Nights game, I lost all hope.

Will Sega listen to their fans?

Ryo, Shenmue 3

That would have made for a good option. I really would like to see another Shenmue, and perhaps an ending to the game. I really enjoyed the first two. Unfortnately it's not even a choice on their poll.

I'm assuming panzer dragoon and shenmue aren't on here since they were released on last gen's systems. These all look older than that. That having been said, they should have an option for sega to never reuse a series again, cause I'd choose that. These are probably 95% sure to disappoint based on their recent track record.

Shenmue would be awesome. What a horrible poll choice. Of course Nights is going to win that.

Exactly, these games/characters haven't been used in quite some time... Though the Nights universe was featured in Sonic Adventure, in that pinball game, and posters were in some levels of Sonic Adventure 2. That ticked me off, when playing the original Sonic Adventure, because I thought for sure it was a sign of things to come. :(

I agree with the comment about Sega's track-record too. Lately they've been making some pretty sub-par games, and tainting some perfectly good franchises. If they went back into their past, and created a few new titles though, I'd hold out some hope. If they end up sucking I'll just pass on them, and continue to enjoy the originals.

Samba for the Wii would be perfect

Nights would be really cool too

Wii Really Really need a new Virtual Cop.. Or maybe the Saturn version on VC :D

Yeah, Janet Marshall from VirtuaCop 2!
I loved using her in Fighter's Megamix. :D

For those looking for Shenmue it is supposed to be coming out with a third version, that is rumored to be multi-platform. Dont remember exactly where but found it on these forums with linky!!!

I voted for Streets of Rage. I wonder if anyone can take a 2D beat 'em up action game and take it 3D without ruining it?

I voted for Virtua Cop, just because of that.
I dont trust SEGA making a 3D Streets of Rage. (*cough*Sonic*cough*)

That would be an interesting linky indeed, considering they announced that it was canned indefinitely.

I want Ulala! Let's shoot!

Courtesy of IGN:

March 7, 2007 - At the Palomar Hotel in San Francisco today, Q Entertainment's Tetsuya Mizuguchi, happy, hungover, and ready to show off his new Xbox Live Arcade game, "E4" (Every Extend Extend Extreme), not so subtlely hinted at two major games he is likely to bring back from their glorious past.

"If I were to make another Rez, then I would want to have a high-def, high-end visual and audio experience to produce it," said Mizuguchi. "If I make it," he added with a smile. When asked if he might produce games on Nintendo's Wii, Mizuguchi remained focused. "And if I were to make another Space Channel 5, that game should have a high-end audio and visual experience, too. If I make it."

Unlike Q Entertainment's other games such as Lumines, where Q owns the intellectual property rights, the IP rights to Rez and Space Channel 5 are owned by SEGA. Mizuguchi started his development career with SEGA, his first game being SEGA Rally. He has tight relations with the Japanese company. "Working with SEGA is becoming a better and better experience. They are open to many possibilities. But that's not all," he added. "We will have major announcements coming soon from Q Entertainment. I can't tell you now, but you'll know soon."

Sounds like the perfect little drop for SEGA and Q fans. Let the speculation wars begin! We'll have more soon on Q's future developments.

Maybe you'll get your wish.

I voted for Streets of Rage. With todays graphics I could see an amazing new remake of that kind of game as long as they dont go crazy with it.

I cant view the pole due to it being blocked but when I think of a Sega character/game I miss I think of Vectorman.

Ok well I apologize as the link that I found was from 2005. Not seeing any news since then.

Nights, no question. I LOVED that game and have been contemplating picking up a Saturn just for it.

How about a new Burning Rangers game?

Just kidding. :D It's a shame good games finally came out for my saturn as it was dying. Can't forget the envy of my friends when I imported the arcade perfect "Mavel vs Capcom" and needed the 4meg extra cart.

Knights, Streets of Rage, Virtual Cop, Panzar Dragoon - Sega has a decent 1st party character lineup. I'd be happy with any one of those... maybe a new "Three Dirty Dwarves" game too. That was pretty fun.

2D for the win!

Another Streets of Rage game in 2D would rock.

Make em simple and fun!
