I have a video camera with a firewire port and i recently recorded a b-day of a friend on it and would like to transfer it to my PC and then make it into a DVD. I know Cyberlink makes a program for that, but I havent really used the camera in about 3 years and I threw out all that old software. So whats a good solution for this? Does nero help author DVDs and transfer footage from a video camera?

Premire elements will get you by, and Nero is fine for DVD's.

I've enjoyed Vegas and Premiere both. They both have their pros and cons. I'd love to play with Final Cut Pro though.

Final Cut Pro Studio is the way to go if you are REALLY into editing. I moved from a G5 to a MacBook Pro and the difference is night and day. Much faster, plus I am in LOVE with Motion (Sucha great program)

On my gaming PC on the windows side, I have found Sony Vegas Movie Studio+DVD to be a lot of fun. But I cannot get it to run under VIsta (32bit) I hope sony patches it. But from what I have read I will have to pay for an upgrade.

Does anyone know of any workarounds?
