amigos,

I am gettting poor results with this zelman 9500. My idle speeds are 45-46 and loads are around 59-60. Anyone have any ideas? I used the stock zelman thermal paste. I the system setup so the air from the zelman is blowing into the power supply fan.

o.k, it looks like I am getting bad contact between the zelman and the HSF. Anyone know what I am doing wrong. I have a CD2 setup for the installation. I am using the S type clip and the 2 black brackets (one fits under the motherboard and the other fits on top of the motherboard over the CPU).

Might help 2 know what your running?? Amd/Intel OC to ??
I'm using the at version with a 6600 oc at 3.64 which is around 34C/59C Idle/Load

luck:)

Please provide more information such as what Vcore you using and etc.

Thanks for the reply guys,

I have a E6400 at 3.1ghz at 1.35vcore. I think I was getting poor contact. I lapped the processor(loss of warrenty) and it seems to have fixed things. I am getting 44/53. 53 with full load on orthos, I get about 59 with TAT. What you guys think? Not sure why I can't idle at 34 like others, my case temp is 22-25.

Who idles at 34 with a 9500?

No one I know of.

That's about right. I idle at 44 on water @ 3500.

I use a Zalman 9500 on my E6600 at 3.2ghz and I idle between 38-39 and full load around 58-59. I have alll my case fans on low speed so it would be better if I turned them up but I like my case quiet and my temps are fine with it set up like it is.

How are your guys checking your core voltage. I get different readings depending on which program I use and they are all different than what I have set in the bios.

My processor will run much faster but I don't like the extra heat, I guess I could always try a T.Tower.

Have the Zalman 9500 too. With my E6400 & 3.2 i get around 42-43c at idle and 58-59 at full load.

Thats in the U.k , so the ambient temperature of the room is around 18-20c, with all the case fans spinning at full speed.

Your temps seem fine.

heres my 3700 with the zalman 9500 .
i used as5 for the thermal paste .
this rig loads at about 38 .
i have the antec 900 which has plenty of airflow .
cheers .

Well, I know I am not getting good contact with the zelmen, I see uneven thermal paste and no thermal paste in some spots. The temps I am getting with the zelmen are the same as the temps I would get with the intel stock cooler.

Could there be a problem with the zelmen? I googled it and I seem to have found another person that had the exact same problem with the zelemn 9500.

Can anyone else confirm the poor contact with the zelmen on a C2D.

It may be u have a concave cpu lid., it's anot like the zalman is hard to mount.
U could test this by cleaning cpu then repasting & pressing the cpu lid onto a mirror. The mirror is pretty well guaranteed a flat surface, so u should see a blank area if your lid is concave. Guess u could also do the same with Zalman base.

luck:D
