eh...i got the 16mb cache version though. oh well. would be good for a 2nd drive though. but i just ordered shit so gonna have to wait.
 
Shipping and tax kill it. Or can you pick it up in-store? I don't want to create an account just to see if I can choose in-store or not.
 
I love seagate though I currently don't have any in my current sys...

they make some real good drives that are quiet and come w/ a good warranty.

Good deal. The Seagate's 7200.10 are about the best price vs. performance ratio out there and good drives.
 
I just picked up a WD 500GB from Newegg for $140 shipped, so, price-per-gigabyte wise, this isn't all that great. For someone needing a little less storage, though, this is a good deal. Nice find, OP.
 
online showed none in stock in my area.

I went to the store & 3 were on the shelf. Grabbed them & asked if they had any more at another store close by. Store close by had some. Asked for one more so I could build my new "fry-special-freePowerSupply-$78motherboard+PD-850-freecase" with 4 drives, 2 in raid1 in each one. These are probably going to be pbx's for my house & the wifes house.

Snagged 4, FTW.

Btw: These seem to be 7200.9's, retail box.

Included are drive, 4 screwed, regular power -> sata power converter and sata cable. NOt bad.
 
Bought the last 2 from my local OM. Then got home and was looking at New Egg, I can get a 7200.10 320GB for $89.99 shipped. $15 less than I paid with tax for the 2 of these. They are going back tommorow morning.

Of course it's not going to be cheaper than a single 320 or 400 :)

But for small applications, having raid1 for $100 + tax is very nice!

Don't know if i would put the maxtors ahead of WD, but not all are crap. If you look closely quite a few are 7200.10's.
 
Picked up the last one on the shelf yesterday right before closing time. Got another $9 off with 3 empty ink cartidges. They give $3 per, up to 5 at a time.
 
I wonder if they will have one, this is a great deal for those who just needs a drive to dump into a system, and being a Seagate, thats even better with thier 5 year warranty.
 
maxtor is seagate retards... they dont exist anymore its owned by seagate... who still sucks

Funny...only drive I've ever have fail was a WD...have 6 Maxtors running 24/7 for the last couple years.
 
The only brand of hard drive I've never had fail on me in... well... decades of doing this stuff on a nearly daily basis is Seagate. Every other brand has had a drive fail on me at some point in the past... well... few decades. :D

I currently have a Maxtor 80GB drive that's in an old box I put together from some Craig's List offerings. So far so good, has good speeds so I'll use it till it dies, but I intend to get a couple of Seagates soon enough.

If they'd do a 10K SATA drive I bet it would smoke a Raptor. Seagate owns the SCSI market, they always have, and I gotta wonder what they've got up their sleeves for the future.

Calling people "retards" just because they've had more experience than you have, sonny, is a bad foot to get started on 'round these parts. Here are some words to ponder as you get older...
