I've noticed that whenever there's a hard drive activity the mouse tends to stutter a little bit. It gets really annoying and I've tried everything I can think out without much luck.
Running Vista 32bit with all the latest drivers,
Seagate SATA drive with AHCI mode enabled in the bios hooked up to the Intel Sata controller. One IDE DVDRW drive hooked up the Jmicron controller
G7 mouse

If any other relevant information needed, please ask.
Thanks in advance.

Make sure it's not in PIO mode for some reason -

Go to Device Manager/Jmicron or Standard IDE Controller/ATA Channel 1, open it, click on Advanced Settings. Should say DMA Mode.

Sometimes I have seen this issue linked to a failing hard drive too...

Everything is brand spanking new. Drive is performing like it should...I've done all the benches. There are no DMA settings that I can chose under "Intel 82801HR/HH/HO SATA AHCI controller."

The DMA settings are not located in the controller itself, they are located in "Primary IDE Channel" and "Secondary IDE Channel".

I don't see any of these settings. I'm assuming this is because the drive is SATA and there are no DMA settings for it.

I've had that problem too, although not with SATA drives, but with IDE. I just uninstalled the jmicron drivers that came on the cd and that fixed the problem.

When you installed your O/S, did you install the Intel chipset drivers from the Intel website?

Uninstall the Logitech drivers and see how it does with the standard MIcrosoft ones.

Could be a Vista driver issue...

That's the first thing I did.
I found the problem...it was the actual mouse. I have a logitech g7 and it's exhibiting jerkiness onces the distance between the receiver and the mouse is more than 12 inches or so. I'm going to give Logitech a call to get this crap replaced.
