Might have to actually break down and a get a 360 so I can play this game. Nice open ended environment like GTA. Which comes from the same mind that made the GTA games.

yea it's not too shabby.

roof hopping is the best though. must... find... more... orbs...

This game is pure fun. Haven't had such a good time with a game in a while. There's something marioesque about jumping all over.

plus as an added incentive you can get into the Halo 3 MP beta if you so desire by getting the right copy of it

I'm gonna go grab a reserve on crackdown tonight or at least sometime this week, the demo was awesome. Halo 3 sucks, i'm calling it

I thought the demo was okay. I want more missions to do though. Freeform gameplay is okay and all but I think there should always be something that you "should" be doing. Doesn't mean you actually have to do it. I don't really like wandering around doing nothing until a mission comes up.

Almost finished with this game.. Just need to find the rest of the orbs for some points.

The boss battles SUCKKKKKKK

I preordered this after playing the demo a few times and realizing I was playing it more than the games I owned. Great fun.

I think it'll probably be one I really try to take my time on, since it sounds like the main story is only 8 hours.

its a fun game, but i wish there was more sidequests, or atleast some variety to the missions you do. They are all "go over there and kill everyone you see" type deals. Which is fun. But it can get kinda boring.

Now excuse me, im haveing orb withdrawl. Ill be back later. *jump*

I've only played the demo. The demo was very fun, though, highly enjoyable. I'll definitely get this game.

all preordered.
The Demo was really good for both the gameplay and well, the over all quality of the demo.

Uh, how did you get it? It hasn't been released yet.

I'm wondering that myself. Doesn't this game not come out until next week? Stores have sometimes put out games prior to the street date, but this is the first person I've heard say such a thing.

2 reasons:

1) Pirates have had the game a few weeks already and they are able to go online and update their profiles - their mods are completely stealthed
2) Retailers have been breaking the street date for a couple days now.

I wish I hadn't rented this game this weekend.:( What a waste of $8, I am definitely buying the game.;)

Soo much fun. It's like GTA except you're superman. So far I have finished the first gang family, not many of the challenges. Can anyone comment on the coop? Is there FF? I may have to convince some friends to buy the game too.

New content for download coming soon! Most fun is blowing up cars with rockets. Damn nice explosions! Some tough challenges as well!

Great game!

LOL I went to Shi Gen first and got destroyed after the first couple missions. I was pounding my head against the wall until a friend told me to go Volk first. Talk about easy by comparison!

I ordered this along with my new X360 Premium the other day, can't wait to play it :D! I heard through my friend, google, that there's going to be another update released through Xbox Live, though it's not yet known what it is (they released a teaser screenshot of four buggies driving near eachother and that's it :p !). I'll post back with my thoughts soon :).

If you thought that was easy, try Los Muertos.

Yeah.

I did the Shai Gen first though.

it was a huge PITA getting up to the top of that tower with only 2x agility.

took me 6 times to beat the "boss" because I kept trying to get up to the ledge where he was, and they kept grenading me over the side of the tower.

there should be an achievement for longest "death" fall.

There should also be an achievement for playing the game for more than a month.

How do you guys do it?!
My copy is rotting until Halo 3 beta comes out :p

I just enjoy the "run around and kill things" type of games.

I have Saint's Row that I finished that I still play.

even my GTA games that i have 100% completion i still play.

yea GTA games have always been great especially because of their replayability

That's one thing that irks me about Crackdown... no default / easy way to reset the gangs.
Oh well, supposedly it's in the next patch.

It's really easy to do once you've finished all 3 gangs...

I'll get eh Volk kingpin this week- just depends on my next chance to play. He's all I have left.

The only annoyance I have is the respawning of baddies when you're taking out the mini bosses. If I kill the recruitment guy, I really don't notice lesser strength.

However I'm getting good at going through the back door :) sometimes makes things TOO easy as melee is always best against the bosses (so far).

It was fun when I had one on fire and was kicking her to death :D

Maybe I'll work in my lowly 1 star driving rating... but I want to get my agility up above 3 stars. It's getting so hard to find orbs now, It's not funny. I know, races.

well you can turn crimes back on but not the bosses.

Ah, I see what you're saying... Yeah it would be cool to turn the bosses back on without losing all your character stats. Maybe even make them a lot more difficult too.

Melee is the best against bosses at the beginning, but then rocket and grenade launchers are much better when you have your firearms skill up. I ended up liking the grenade launcher the best for bosses.

I went Muertos -> Shai Gen -> Volk. This game is a blast! I had the most fun taking out the Shai Gen bosses in the high rise buildings.

Yes, boss reset is in the DLC soon to be coming, along with some new vehicles, weapons, gadjets and game modes. One of the Devs posted a picture of a dune buggy for one of the new vehicles and I know alot of people are talking about a motorcycle.

I thought the boss fights were all a bit too easy. Just ended up carving a path to each one and then meleeing them or using rocket launchers. They all died in seconds. also the story was a bit on the light side. It didn't really have anything to pull me in or "connect" w/ my character. It was fun hopping around buildings though and tagging gang cars w/ the rocket launcher. I felt the explosions were very satisfying.

I think in the next game, Real-time Worlds will answer many gamers pleas and have us face off against another superhuman, fighting while jumping rooftop to rooftop. That'd be cool.

Gamestop is delivering my order of Project Gotham Racing 3, Dead or Alive 4, and Crackdown tomorrow, but I downloaded the demo of Crackdown to try out, let's just say that the 1-hour clock it gives you to play in went all too quickly :)... this is one heck of a fun game, I can't wait till my disc arrives!

The hardest part is getting an AI able to pathfind that efficiently on the fly. Since the player spends a large amount of time in the air(for some, the majority of the time), the boss would need to be as fast or faster than the player and able to mix in aerial pathfinding with the regular ground pathfinding that has already been tough going for most programmers. It's been done before, but the result has usually involved immersion-breaking cases which are difficult to excuse when it's a boss character where the player has all of his/her attention focused. For example, the cheap cop-out of making a parabola trajectory from start to finish without checking for obstacles; often resulting in a high-speed faceplant into a wall(and if it happens in a rooftop battle, that faceplant can be followed by a 20-story drop that will effectively end the rooftop chase). Or pre-made waypoint networks throughout the battle area.

I would expect at least some flying enemies, and boss vehicles of some sort. And if the boss vehicle is claimable, it has to be weak enough to not be totally gamebreaking in the player's hands, but strong enough to give the player a tough time facing up against it.

They've got a pretty impressive engine going for them, so I'm excited to see what they can pull off now that the work in laying a foundation has been taken care of.
