I just got off the phone with that bunch of idiots.
I have MOHAA and tried to install the spearhead expansion.
The installer says that my game is not the current version and offers to install the update patch. IT FAILS saying that no game is installed on your system.

I called tech support and asked if the installer can find the game and tell me what version it is why can't it find the game when it tries to patch the game?

well After 10 minutes on hold, sir we would say do a clean install of the game, I said I just installed it, then maybe you might consider reinstalling the operating system on your hard drive. ROFL

so to get a DAMN PATCH to find the game I should reformat my hd and reinstall the os and then reinstall the game?????????????????????????

well sir sometimes these things happen....

1) I would suggest trying to manually download the patch, unless you tried that. 2) did you change the default install path?
 
they really should do a game were ppl can storm EA and just go around shooting the holy sh%t out of everything. very good therapy. not that I endorse killing anyone just cripple their ability to produce games anymore by destroying all their computers and coffee machines.

I was at a game store tonight and went to checkout with a copy of BF2142 and honestly right when I remembered that it was EA I went right back it put it away. They already burned me several times with the Betafield series. I guess I'll wait a year on the 2142 and by then it'll be patched to Release Candidate standards.
 
2 more years and 2142 will be up to early beta.
I bet the only thing they really tested was the ads.

I am waiting for the group that built bf2....yep the ones that EA hired, stole their ideas and then fired them.

they have a BF killer coming out this summer....bf killer,,,that won't be hard.
all they have to do is well do they have to do anything ROFL

no flying tanks, you know most games call them planes and don't make them invincible...rockets that go thru vehicles....lets see I don't think this editor would allow anyone enought space to list everything wrong with that lemon.


really though to tell me to reinstall my os to fix a problem with their game patch is beyond stupid
(yep I dl the offical patch from their site....put it in the game directory and it could not find it either)
I looked on the net and there were hundreds of the same question but no answers so it was not just me.
I really think that if a co can't put out a product that works correctly they should be forced to give refunds since the retailers refuse to.

that was genuine humor. kudos to you my friend, yet again we come to the conclusion that EA does indeed suck and needs to be eradicated ASAP or the corruption will spread. This has already been observed with some of Ubisofts releases...

Too late! We're doomed! I think the president of Iran works for EA. That's what I heard or read somewhere when I was doing something with someone somewhere some time ago some place. Something like that, yeah.

That, and the fact that the literacy/intellect seems to be on a par with a mongolian farm child with a mental invalidity.

EDIT: Tell you what, as a matter of fact, i'm off to clutter the boards with a thread about how my Steam can't fucking manage to play more than one evening in a row without a CTD or "Invalid client ID" error, because everyone's really interested. Whinging publically's sure to be far more effective than either putting up with it or sorting it out myself.

I think someone is having a bad day... I can't get how difficult it is to see that BF2 and BF2142 are unfinished games, "betafield" as u mentioned it, released to the public. Many people exaggerate,true, but this game IS fucking broken.

Broken implies it doesn't work, and I managed to get over 100 kills on Road to Jalalabad just fine this weekend. There are bugs, but the game is far from broken.

I used "betafield" as it seems to be the wittiest that the detractors can come up with. Sure, it's not a perfect game(s), but the majority of people that seem to have a problem don't actually own the game, and have made their minds up long before playing it - briefly.
It was funny at first, but it's getting annoying enough having to listen to this half-witted bollocks as it is, and i'm not having to moderate the damn forum. The OP isn't even asking for help, he's just sitting here and indulging himself by typing to people that aren't interested in anything but an opportunity to say "YER LOL ITS CRAP", rather than a) taking the advice given, b) figuring it out for himself, or c) asking us for help. If he's not trying to find a solution there's really little weight to his "bigest pile off crap ever" argument. GETMEBLUD?
