I like your desk. Well, the whole area is nice, lol. What's the glass thing on the right?

Thanks. The glass thing is a plasma ball:) I chose blue\pink for my case lights to tie things together. Will take a night shot tonight.

Now I just need some LCD Arms

Aren't the speakers and sub (especially the sub) a bit too close to your other electronics? Mainly, shouldn't your sub be a bit farther away from your tower?

The magnets in the speakers arent big enough to cause any harm, and that tower next to my sub is actually a really old pc. Its been sitting there for about 2 years and ive never had any trouble with it.

Ive been meaning to move it out since i never use it much anymore.

Here's a LOL!

B&W 803S

I used to have a big 12" sub right next to my case in my dorm room, never caused a problem. Basically, to harm a HDD, it has to be a HUGE magnetic field.

What speakers are those? I see they are JBL's but what series?

I'd upload a better picture but imageshack keeps freezing on me...

NHO,
Cheater! J/K...

Anyway, I see your dad has a pair of DIY speakers... looks to be a single driver, fullrange, and slot ported at the bottom. How do those sound to you?

Also, I see a pair of box speakers on the side, are those ATC speakers?

Lastly, does he run tube monoblocks with tube preamps? What are they, er I mean brand?

Thanks!

yeahh those are some DIY speakers, they sound very clear and clean, much better than my computer speakers of course and those on the sides are some old school mcintosh speakers

and to answer your last question, yes he does run tube monoblocks with tube preamps, and as far as the brand goes, the two block tube amps on the far left are norh and maple tree audio design while the ones in the middle are custom made

Excuse the mess.. I'm moving out in a month.. so I've been on a rampage..
nothing special.. four polk r30's ($40 from fry's), I need a center (yes, that is a promedia 5.1 ultra center you see, lol), a klipsch ksw-12, a panasonic SA-XR57, JVC vcr, 360, xbox gen1, gamecube, westy 37w3.

Almost Evil, Vertex knows his stuff. They wouldn't be seen with a wired speaker ;)

Yes, those are the 5450's, and the rears are on stands behind that gray POS chair just out of the picture.

Great sound for the size of room I'm working with. I've got a Denon/Polk setup for the living room, but that would've just been overkill (and expensive) in here....

How could you not post your cushion!

Finally (more or less) got my HT setup. Only thing left is to hook it up to a PC, which will probably happen as soon as the R600 hits and I build a new rig, then my current rig is becoming an HTPC.

I'll probably upgrade the speakers from the B&Ws sooner or later also, but it's not a real high priority.

Here is my latest setup:

Two horn subwoofers + adire tempest 340l EBS, driven by a 900wrms PA amp, diy seas + peerless fronts, yamaha rxv-640 6.1 amp, diy surrounds (ne shown), Behringer 24 band parametric EQ for the bass (in the form of a BFD), e-mu 0404 sound card, behringer UB802 mixer. The desks are also DIY built, aluminium with black melamine tops. Dual 21in trinitron monitors. There also some sehnheiser HD555s on the desk, oh and a technics turntable in the background, sorry about the mess. The photo was difficult to take, i have more desk space than floor space in my room (each part of the desk is 1900x900mm).
