I've been using my two dell 2001fp for the last few years and they are pretty nice.
However i think that i am ready to step up to three displays. I found a some sweet ergotron stands that i will buy to mount the displays with.

I've decided to move away from dell, and i am looking at some other options.

I'm looking for a 20-21 inch monitor, and i was planning on getting standard aspect ratio.
i want a very very thin bezel around the screen where as they well all be right next to each other. I will game still, so that is a def consideration.

beyond this initial purchase i want whatever brand i choose to also have a great 24" Wide screen for later. I'm weird and i want all my monitors to be the same brand.

any suggestions?

Are you talking about Matrox Surround Gaming, or just having three monitors hooked up?
If you are talking about Matrox, then you can only use 19", non wide-screen for it to take up the entire monitors.

Ergotron DOES make some really sexy stands, though . . . like the LX Triple Display:
Long link

Which, I think, is the best way to have three monitors.

I was going along this route for quite a while . . . but I chose not to go Surround Gaming for these reasons:

1)TripleHead2Go is Analog, not Digital.
2)I would only go Surround Gaming with that stand, so it limited my selection of monitors to ones that were VESA.
3)I could not find any good non-TN monitors that were VESA.
4)$600 just to have the 3 monitors hooked up properly . . . almost $300 for TripleHead2Go and $300 for the stand. Add another $900, at least, for the three actual monitors.
5)If I could not get a game to run in Surround Gaming, I would be stuck on a tiny 19" monitor . . . thus making $1500 go down the drain . . . well $1300, when not couting the 19" monitor being used.
6)I did not like the idea of having a ton of cables running around my desk.

Now, if you are going with three monitors for gaming, I would get Viewsonic VX922 or Samsung 940BX.

Or even the Gateway FPD1965 (I am not sure how they perform though and the bezel seems a bit thick) . . . since you want to have a good 24" monitor later on. The Gateway FPD2485W is supposed to be good.
That or the Dell 1907FPv and get the 2407 later on.
But then Viewsonic and Samsung also make 24" monitors.

In the end, I am going to get a Westinghouse LVM-37W3 . . . otherwise I would get a 30" monitor. Nothing more, nothing less.

That is the stand i've been looking at. It's real sweet. pricey though.

And to your question no i will not be getting the matrox card. I just getting 3 monitors for my daily functions, but i will game on my center monitor still.

Well, I was not talking about the Parhelia (if that is what you meant by the Matrox card) . . . they have a hook-up system where you plug three monitors into this device, which then goes to your computer. And it sends 3 (one to each) 1280x1024 displays to each monitor.

Anyway, any specific reason why you want to buy three monitors instead of buying a big one? Would not having, say, 2 30" monitors or a 30" and a 24"/26"/27" be easier than having 3 20"-21" monitors and a 24"?

But then maybe that is just me.

24" is a different machine.

3x 20 will be my daily machine, but i will do some gaming on it every so often. I have been using two screens, it's not a matter of size, but rather a another monitor for full size apps.

Just need to find the right screens

So does anyone have any ideas on some screens to use?

So far i've looked into:

Samsung 204B
Samsung 214T
Veiwsonic VP2030b
LG LC2000C

can't believe ergo only support 21" max. The price tag of 24" is so low, why would anyone go w/ the 20"?

i know i'm not real happy about that, I'd love to see something that could support something big in the middle then two side monitors a little smaller...

Then go w/ Viewsonic 2030b, it's very nice and I sold a no. of them, very nicely done. The only setback is a software that c/w the box (a portrait software) that does not work, it's meant to rotate text 90 deg. But w/ Nvidia, you can rotate it w/o that piece of software. So no biggie

Dont forget to ask if that is the best they will do on the price. I went into office depot to look at 19" monitors. They had a viewsonic for 230. My wife asked what they would do for price if I got 5 of them, they came back with $159 a piece.

Oh i won't buy from best buy, i just want to see it in person.
Whenever i decide to buy i'm just gonna get it at work. Give myself my own discount :)

i just don't have access to the warehouse so i can't see it first.
