Mousepads.. Which one you guys like?

just opened my ratpadz XT , loving it , reminds me of my original ratpad from years ago

- very well made, thick / heavy with round smooth edges
- 9 slip resistant dots on the underside
- made in the USA and [H]

whats not to love ! :D

Thanks to all you guys for the props! It is very much appreciated.

Buy a Ratpadz XT and if you don't like it, I will buy it back and pay shipping.

Best thing I did for my pcs was not use a damn mouse pad.

Maybe if you don't game...

I'd never not use a mousepad. I've been through 2 func pads, a rapadz, steel S&S, and now a steel Qck+. Once you go cloth you don't go back. Hard is nice but it really sucks for low sensitivity players like my self.

has anyone tried the QPAD|ct or the noid pad? I am debating between getting a noid pad, which are custom apearance cloth pads, or just getting a steelpad qck heavy... I want something cloth for sure because im a low sens gamer

Is their really a reason to use a mousepad now?

I have several desks... Two are pure black and I have no need to use a mouse pad...

For the others, I notice no difference on my newer optical and laser mice with and without a mousepad. That includes gaming mousepads.....

I've tried cardboard, but it sucked.

I hate the look of a mousepad. It limits your mouse movement space, and sometimes moves when you move your mouse.

I use two G5s, two Creative Fatality 1010's (yes, they suck), a kensington laser wireless, a microsoft intellimouse explorer 3.0, and a microsoft basic optical.

I only need to use mouse pads on the intellimouse and the basic optical.

Best thing I did for my pcs was not use a damn mouse pad.
Yes.

Superb. My desk is sometimes sticky. I like my mouse not to be in that. And my Mouse pad allows my mouse to move better, since the mouse pad has a lower friction coefficient.

Yes, cardboard does suck.

I like it. It defines where the mouse should be. My mouse pad (and any good mouse pad) doesn't move when you move the mouse. And it shouldn't limit you, you should buy one big enough for you.

I use a G5, and have used a MX510.

I didn't need the mouse pad for either, but I liked what the mouse pad added to using the mouse.

Best thing I did for my PCs was use a mouse pad.

QcK+ FTW. Don't bother with the heavy unless your desking surface isn't flat.

the only person talking about skill is you.

but now that you mention it... better equipment does help and you cant say it doesnt. anything that improves the human-pc interface is going to improve not just the fun factor of a game but to some people it will also improve abilitys in a game if your being limited by your equipment.

so say you have a crappy optical mouse. you would never be as accurate with it as an Equally skilled player with say a G7 or similer high end mouse.

same goes for a keyboard. as mentioned in the thread already crappy keyboards have a limit of 3 key's pressed at once while high end keyboards can have 7 or 8 and that is VERY important my pc has beeped so many times from using a crappy keyboard and trying to do too much stuff and it doesnt just beep at you it stops all the keys that you were pressing from working until you repress them.

running and hitting that 4th key and stoping in place just to be shot? sounds like a hardware issue to me.

ofcourse skill plays a part but so does the equipment.

while they help its not necessary. someone that had to adapt to his limited equipment can still be very good with it its a fact. ive seen kids with 5 dollar mats and an old school ms optical intelli tear it up. these kids dont have that option of getting the next best thing and they work around with what they have and it do it very well not to mention the time.

anyway, ive owned a couple of func 1030's and currently using a func f30.r mouse pad.

Never tried a Ratpadz yet, but the 1.99 on from Frys seems to do the job for me. ;)

I don't FPS, and I guess I'm used to the friction, because slicker pads just feel weird. I have two MouseRugs that I alternate between, and I really like the style and feel of them.

I got an Electronic Boutique(EB Games now), back years ago. Still works fine for me.

i'm currently not using anything with a plain logitech premium optical (like the ones that come w/ dell computers), but decided to bite on Kyle's offer. I'll post a review when it gets here i guess.

Sorry to disagree with Kyle - I like the Ratpadz XT alot too, but for style (Come on, we are all really looking for bragging rights and looks here... Just to look [H]ot  with a slick mousepad that honestly doesn't effect performance, just more of a mental thing and maybe a bit of feel for the texture.) I would have to say my new Icemat 2nd Edition is the best I've tried. I mean come on, honestly - wouldn't you like to say your mousepad is made of freakin glass!?! Plus, on the texture side of things, the included teflon feet fit in perfectly with the G5 to give you an amazing gliding feel that offers unmatched accuracy. Not to mention I haven't ever stepped off the boudaries of it before - it's plenty big. And I play a variety of games, from AoE3 to CS:S to BF2/2142 to SWG ( :D ) . If you want something that looks damn cool (One of the listed reasons Icemat is the best, right on the box) and offers silky smooth glass gliding performance with unbeatable acuracy - go with an Icemat 2nd Edition.

99 cent mouse pad FTW!

You are correct, there are some companies that do nothing but build them to look good. If looks are what you are after, then a Ratpadz XT is likely not for you. We built it with performance and durability in mind. :) But again, if you buy one and don't like it, I will buy it back and pay shipping. Don't see too many other folks stand behind their product like that. ;)

Oh my god; I'm using the F30R right now w/ the G5, and it just glides like butter; I can highly recommend this combo atleast.

I got the Icemat 2nd edition at Fry's. $40, but its way worth it. The GS is an awesome mousepad, and if you're not into the whole "I am an enthusiast, hear me roar" sort of thing, then stick with that - because $40 is a bit high for most people.

I was looking at the icemat as well. It looks really solid and the surface is like ice. That is a mousepad that i would have to pay cash, throw away the receip and box, and tell my wife i got it cheap!

No its not - and with that [H]Gawd tag, you should know better... Shame on you, don't you read your reviews? The XT has a supposedly upgraded surface, a more stable and thinker backing than the GS, more sticky feet, and I THINK it is slightly larger. All in all they both provide about the same performance.

If your replying to Mr. Miyagi, you need to read closer, he said:

It's the same thing as the normal Ratpadz GS but with the BFG Tech logo instead of the Ratpadz logo.

emphasis and bold added by me.

ordered the ratpatdz XT tuesday night, got here today (friday). shipped in a USPS priority mail envelope, which had two holes worn into the edge where the pointy ends of the pad were rubbing it (about 1" wide holes near the corners). no damage though.

for some reason i expected a smooth surface, but its textured. i need new feet on my old logitech mouse (like the dell-branded opticals), they're gone and its kind of noisy. On the newer mouse (same model) its no big deal. it seems a little faster than the dell mousepad that i have, but the texture i'll have to get used to.

The bottom has 5 feet in the front, 1 in the middle, and 3 in the back. seems planted pretty well to me.

I'm hoping this pad will clear up the occasional random jumping that my mouse does, we'll see. I'll have to install FEAR again and try it out, but later i'll do some CoH.

XT for me as well...

too bad lately hasn't seen much more action then pubMed searches for my research :(

Razer eXactMat - not good for BF2 (don't ask) but pretty good for everything else:p

Any chance of a UK stockist for the XT.

I bought 2 GS's from scan.co.uk recently but not loving it as much as my circa 2001 Ratpad so want to give the XT a try.

We ship the pads internationally for a fair shipping price as well. You will have to arrange this via the email contact page. Just drop them a line and they will get you a quote. We have been shipping them all over the world. We are using email orders to cut down on the fraud we have been exposed to in the past with international orders. www.ratpadz.com

I picked up a Ratzpad GS for my wife yesterday,as one of the local shops had a few leftovers from years ago.She likes it allot.I also grabbed a FuNC 1030.s XXL,love the oversize and the feel is just magic ! Both great buys all around. Her first Ratzpad GS lasted about 3 years, not bad for allot of heavy gaming use,and a low price.
