I'm running out of space. I'd like to be able to keep all of my games in one area (which is next to impossible because of my setup), and PC game's jewel cases tend to mix things up.

All the newer ones (not that many really) that are in the dvd-like boxes just go on the shelf next to my dvds, the older (except my Fallout collection) are in a box somewhere...

Well, I uh.. Don't 'buy' games, so I have the tendency to keep all the images (no-cd patches added) of the games on a file server with a raid 2 disk array (just in case:cool: ).

If you have so many games that there is no room for the disks, you could:

-Make images of the disk and store them on your computer, and put the disks in a box and in
storage.

-Use binders with (ones with 6 disk slots per page work best) and put the disk covers in the
slot for the disk behind the disk its self.

-Put the games you don't play the often in some other spot.

Careful what you discuss here in the hard forum I would edit that post if I were you

Indeed. Piracy isn't to be discussed here.

I actually keep all my cds on old spools from burnable discs. Keeps everything from getting lost or scratched. Have 2 of those medium sized ones here full up with assorted disks, everything from drivers and OS disks to games and burned disks. Its kind of a hassle sometimes to find what your looking for but you know its there somewhere. Old keys if they aren't stored online by account I keep in an old cd holder I have that has a side flap that zips up.

I buy those CD folders and put my games in them. Its nice cuz I know where everything is.

Same here, cake boxes, cd spindles, whatever you want to call them. Got a couple of the 100-disc ones almost filled. I use no-cd patches or mini-images for most games just so that I can keep the originals in a drawer somewhere.

CD-keys are kept in a txt file on my desktop.

On a shelf. I don't own too many games. But once I do then some will go into the closet.

But I do have all of them imaged with the CD keys in a txt file. Very useful at lan parties if something isn't installed or isn't working.

Keep the discs in a Case Logic case and the boxes/cases in the closet. Out of sight, out of mind.

I have a big folder-type case that I've been using for a few years that I keep all of my game CDs in. I have a separate one for OS, driver, and app discs.

i have a caselogic cd binder works well but i have to write down my cd keys else where cuz i just toss the jewel cases in a box in my basement.

recently i had to move my games into a bigger cd binder cuz i get a lot of used games from amazon which usually means 3-5 CDs cuz its harder to find cheap used DVDs

man, i remember when rise of the triad came on 5 floppies... back in the day

I put all mine on the HDD, that way I can keep them from being scratched.

Ditto.

I download them to HDD then back them up to DVD which for my games sit on spools of 25 discs.

I don't usually store DVDs on the spools due to scratching but I dont have enough games to warrant another 300-400 DVD holder

I have 3 other DVD holders which hold between 200-400 each filled with burnt media, it's thje cheapest way to store media and doesn't take up much room, each holder is smaller than a briefcase, although maybe a tad thicker.

On the HD.

i have a big dvd case full of game cd's, but usually run a no cd on whatever the game im playing a lot is.

I use a Case Logic CD binder for mine. As for CD keys, I just picked up a cheap label maker and put a label onto the front of the disc one sleeve in the binder. That keeps the binders in order as well.

Games that come in their own cases I keep in a DVD shelf. I also found that in general, keeping disks in cake boxes/spindles are NOT a good idea. If you move them around at all to either do cleaning, or letting people borrow them, or just to take disks out, the disks themselves will scratch each other when the rub against each other. So I ended up putting all my burnt stuff into cd holders.

all of my main games that i play every now and then are kept on a shelf about 2 feet away from my computer. all the others are scattered around the house in various drawers. i think some are at my grandmothers house.

Console games go on top of the TV on a DVD rack, PC games go into a CD folder while their boxes go into a little drawer near the computer.

A mix between CD folders and a rack for the ones I have the boxes to. Fortunately, I'm not too limited on space.

I keep all my games in their cd cases, and some in their original box. The rest is on a hard drive right now with various other cd images. I find installing from images faster and easier than swapping out cds/dvds. If its a game I want to keep backed up, Ill burn to cd/dvd and throw it in my 500count cd wallet.
