Antec Sonata II ATX Case & 450W PSU $40 After $50 Rebate + Free Shipping

That is very good deal with a good power supply... It will run any single video card including 8800gtx...

I have this case/PSU, and it's incredibly quiet. I paid $90 and am satisfied that it was worth it, $40 is an awesome deal.

Great deal, too bad I already got a Sonata from the FS/T forum... Ah well, I'm now trying to save up for a 1080p monitor/tv, so I don't need to be spending a lot of money heh. Good find op

I have this case also and although I am pleased with it , it is louder than my old Antec P160 case with the same exact hardware.

Im not sure if its cause I went from a full tower to a mid tower?. But it is louder.

Very nice looking case though

I take it this recent pricing is because of the Sonata 3 coming out in Feb ? Good deal none the less.By the by,the Antec S3,looks terrible.

Too bad this is only for the online Fry's site, I wouldn't mind picking one up at the store since returning would be oodles easier should there be a faulty PSU or something.

I also have visions of the MIR not being honored simply because it was from outpost.com not frys.com

Whaaat? I had a smartpower 2.0 500w and my 7900gt would screw up constantly, until i upgrade to tp3-650. Where does it say that the SP2-450 is certified for the 8800 ?

This is an excellent deal nonetheless.... that IS an extremely well built case.

Then something was wrong with your SP 2.0 500w, because a 7900GT is not that hard of a load. My Current SP-500 runs a well overclocked system of 3 sata drives, 2 dvd burners, overclocked cpu and 8800GTS.....

Well the 8800gtx uses I think 26 amps total, with 2 pcie's connected to it.
The power supply has 15, and 17 amps on the two twelve volt rails, respectively.

So on paper it should be able to run it... but I'd say probably not.

Sonata 3 doesn't look that bad to me; I'm partial to the P150 my self although I wish it was in black. I have built in two of them, and they are very quiet boxes. My only complaint is the longevity of the rubber suspension bands. I have had a couple break.

I read that the case has only room for 1x 120mm fan and that's it. Is this the case? If so, I'm a little worried of cooling being an issue.

You, sir, may be interested in the Solo. If you haven't checked it out before, it's basically a slight variant of the p150. Not only is it available in black (front bezel is silver though), but they also replaced the hard drive suspension bands with industrial grade elastic straps.

Thanks,
This will be my second Sonata, and my wife's computer will migrate into this. I will eventually have a silver Chieftec tower for sale on here :) and a power supply.

Great deal i jumped on it. This will also be my 2nd, it iwll replace my Sonata case. I have my other Sonata II case housing the top rig in my sig... just enough room for the GTX's!

Yup probably got a broken one and you should have returned the power supply... I have SP2-450 and used 1950xtx for a while... Currently using 1900gt which needs more 12volt rail than a 7900gt...

Any one interested in buying a P150? This looks fantastic. Classy looking case.

:D Glad I could help. I have one and love it but haven't gotten anything to put in it yet. I also have a P180b and when it arrives a Sonata II (thanks, OP), both with nothing to go in them. The P180b will be home to the computer I'll be building soon though.

The case was delivered today, and I ordered yesterday morning. Frys is just awesome.

A couple thoughts. I've had good luck with Fry's and Antec rebates in the past. I also like Antec cases (and their many clones).

However, be cautious with their PSUs.... They do not seem to be the quality they used to be. Check out PSU forum here--there are a couple lively Antec threads. ;)

ordered today...went to the Plano Frys and the case is $119...needed a relatively "light duty" ATX 2.x ps for a file and print server, might as well get a more functional case for less $$ to boot. Pretty nice case I think it'll do me fine.

I have 2 TruPower (430 and 350) ps's and a Neo 480 and have had no issues with them, but they are not pushing a load like my main rig (see sig)...for that I have a Seasonic 700 :)

Same, Fry's in Houston had it for 119, said "sweet" and walked out to come home and order this one :p

Holy crap fast shipping, Item shipped Tuesday arrived Wednesday. Wish we had a Fry's local they would definitely get my business over WorstBuy

7900GT Manufacturer Recommendations: A minimum 400W system power supply (with 12V current rating of 26A)

I'm running my 7900GT on an oooooooold 350W Antec Truepower and it performs flawlessly.

Agreed about Antec's quality, but I have yet to find a case like the old ones they made 10 years ago, they may have been heavy, but they could take a punch.

Nice deal, thanks OP!

Hmm thinking of biting here... damn I hate rebates but that is just such a sweet price....

Fry's rebates have always come through for me in the past <crosses fingers>

and yeah the old Antec cases were like T-72 tanks...that's one reason I bit on this cuz not only did I need a cheap ps, I can replace this old heavy biege case.

I got mine today (2 cases for two different people I'm building systems for at 2 different addresses). I ordered on 1/24/07 and received two cases in the mail today. They came in great condition and look very capable, I especially like the nice soft rubber feet. Time to sell those silicon dealies I had lined up. :) Great deal and thanks to the OP.

NO SH*T, HOLY CRAP!!!

got mine today...damn wish everyone shipped DHL...shipped one day, here the next, WOW.

Must be nice, I had to go to DHL to pick it up. Fry's attempted to ship it to my work address, yet put the City and Zip from my home address, way to go. It would have taken another 2 days to get to me, since DHL would have had to transfer it from one sorting facility to another and then finally get it on a truck to me. Oh well, now I have it and then they do a $50 rebate with the P150, I'm soon going to have way too many cases.

Just started my HTPC build for this case. I have to say I am pretty impressed (especially if the MIR comes through lol).

$40 is a steal.

My order got cancelled. Would've been nice if they'd have at least emailed me notice that it was cancelled. Instead I checked the door hopefully every day to find no box on the doorstep :p

In-store at Fry's "$30 instant savings" = $79
add additional $40 when purchasing Vista upgrade...

lol this was a deal to be sure...
