Hello all,
Can anyone help me with any suggestions or tips for efficient wiring in an Antec 900. Just got the case recently and i'm finding it difficult to get the wiring as neat as i had it in my previous case. Ps is a Tagan tg480-u22 if that's any help. Cheers, Hope someone with experience of this case can throw some tips my way. Max.

cut some holes in the mobo tray . route the wires on the back .
make a cover like this , and you will hide the psu wires .
hope that helps .
cheers .

heres a great link to get you started .
good luck there .

Yeah i was considering cutting holes in mobo tray think i'll go ahead now that someone else has had success with it. I noticed you've still got your hd's round the right way. I was going to also try to flip them round just wanted to know have you tried this and did the front fans prevent it? Also my psu (Tagan tg480-u22) has a front fan instead of a top fan like yours so if i'm goibng to make a cover i wouldn't want to cover the fan so if i was to make it work i'd need to make it just half the length of the ps. Not sure if that would look so good. Cheers for reply. Max.

i am going to see about those hard drives when the xmas season is over . it would help clean up those sata cables some . i will have to drill a couple of different holes in the hd CAGE . to move the hard drives away from the fan . just like the link . good luck with your modding there . if you can , when you gets it done , post a pic or two .
cheers there .

what is that big ass box next to the PSU? somewhere to hide wires? lol

actually , its a secert compartment ,
to hide my mad money, for computer gear .
hush there now ,
i wouldnt want the WIFE to find out .

it also works great at hideing those wires , hey?
cheers there .

Thanks for the pics and the link littlejohn. I got a 900 for xmas and I'm wiring it up now. I tore apart an old p2350 box and salvaged the hd cage from it. With some dremelling it will fit into the bottom next to the psu and hide the extra wiring. When I was selecting the components for my new rig, I was torn between the ocz gamextreme psu or the silverstone modular. Heh...I should have gone modular. :D

I had to drill about 4 holes in mobo tray plus another couple in hdd cages. There's a picture showing the sata cable coming from under mobo tray to port over at i/o shield. I picked all the ports to use for the best hiding potential. I took a pic of the mem as i think the Geil (orange) sticks look great on that board (p5w dh deluxe) I also posted this on Rate your cables thread.
Edit memory pics not there. Nevermind.

Cut my holes last night, I went with two holes. Large hole in bottom of tray to run PSU wires to back, and 1 up top for optical drive and GPU PSU cables. I suppose I should have gone with 3 holes, in retrospect. If I hadn't spent 4+ hours cutting, filing, routing, and tying...I'd consider adding another. The 3rd will have to wait until I add another component that will absultely require this further modification. Pics to come tonight. Final result is much easier to work with, but still not as clean as I would like.

pics would be great .
take your time there and hide as many wires as you can .
im sure you will be pleased with the outcome .
good luck .
cheers .

Pics of wiring, back of tray, and workstation setup. Items in sig. Yes, the drives are beige...and no, I'm not going to be using the remote or the 5.25" I/O portion of my soundcard. I'd rather have cooling than useless ports (for me) and a remote for something within arms reach.

good job there mate .
my drives were beige also .i spray painted em black with some spray paint from canidian tire . i also sprayed in inside of the case .
can i ask what your temps are?
i am intrested in the way you have your zalman cooler mounted . pointing at the 200 mm fan seems intresting to me .
cheers .

littlejohn Have you tried turning your hdd's round yet? I'm asking just cos i think your case would look so much better like that. I didn't find this very hard to do although it does require a couple of holes in the hdd cages. I found this pretty easy and if you done this your case would be about PERFECT. I know how hard the Antec 900 is to wire so well done mate, I love mine and temps are amazing. Hope we get some more 900's in this post. Keep them coming guys. Max.

The link at the top shows good results, great info for me because I was considering this case. However, after looking at pictures of installs all I can think right now is that the case looks deceptively small on the inside.

less fans=more room. However, I'm not interested in less fans...hence the cutting.

i am waiting on 2 right angle sata cables . they should be here any day now .
once i get em , ill make a few more cuts . ill repost some pics . for sure .
have a great weekend .
cheers .

sabregen is your PSU mounted upside down in the case? I was looking at that PSU to purchase for my system...wondering if you had to do anything special or how it works if it is upside down.

damn u people crazy with your 900 wiring, im still waiting on my other parts to come in, should be tomorrow ^^, im not looking to drill holes so mine will probably not be as neat as you guys, but just wondering if theres ways to extend the cpu power supply, i think its 8 pin? was thinking of running it up the side of hte mobo and over the top hooking it in using some of those zip ties. using a corsair 620w hx PSU.

I just clipped the 8 pin cables, added 2 4pin molex's on each end, soldered, then heatshrank a 6' segment of cables onto each wire so it's now 6' longer than it was.. BOOM long enough to reach behind the mobo tray, and peek up to the onboard connector.

you could do that but im not looking to alter the actual wire, just need an extender :p
