I'm going to mainly use this computer for gaming, music, and some 3d modeling. I'd love for the computer to be silent, or as close to silent as possible during idle. I'm going to have the system hooked up to Logitech Z-5500s at first, but I'm looking to upgrade them in the future. This will be for my dorm room.

Any comments/criticism would be appreciated.

I am not sure the CPU cooler will work. It might interfere with the outside shell of the case.

Go with a Zalman 8000 or the swifttech with a Vantec Stealth fan (thats what I use in mine).

I'm using the NT06 cooler from Silverstone, and The Enermax Liberty. I recommend both, highly. The NT06 is running passive, with the Liberty's 120 pulling air out of it. Runs really nice.

Thanks for the advice, I've changed to a Zalman 8000 CPU Cooler and the Enermax Liberty PSU. How loud is your computer at idle and at load? I'd like this computer to be as quiet as possible.

GET THE NT06

i can't stress this enough. get it. it runs passive, yet is still the best cooler available for the silverstone. just make sure your psu has a bottom draw 120mm fan.

New 8800 GTS 320MB is going to be out in month. 7950 GT is out dated video card,

as far as the video card situation goes, you can just get by on the onboard video for a month until the 320MB 8800 card and maybe even the new ATI release comes out and then make your choice.

...and I can't stress enough the GTS is way overpriced for what it is. Virtually same performance as an X1900XT 256MB, but it costs twice as much. No point in buying it for DX10 because there are no DX10 games!!! It also won't have the grunt for HQ in the newest games. Wait for R600 and prices to drop and make your decision then. GTX is the better deal.

7950GT is a decent choice for now. X1900XT is the better card, though: http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=585&p=1

7950 GT and 8800 GTS 320 MB are at the same price point. I don't see the sense I buying another $300 card in less than six months.

I didnt find the black Soundgraph iMon VFD in Sweden :( ,so I went for the Silver Sugo and VFD, though I think black looks better. I have to ask, is the onboard soundcard bad, how much better is it with a slot in card ?

Onboard sound on the P5B-VM? Its great. Then again, I've been using onboard sound for games and my surround sound systems for years. Creative=evil IMO.

As for noise levels, I can hear my wife talk to me from the next room. As mentioned earlier, get the NT06! You have the Liberty, not its time to use the HS this case was made for. You get excellent cooling, and no noise from the cpu cooler. BTW, the PSU fan in the liberty does not ramp up much at all due to sucking the heat out of the NT06, its still very quiet.
