Oh you mean like the rack I have :) Haha!

Sorry, had to get some gratification since people are easily one-upping my stuff. lol

RrrrrrrrrRRrrRRRrrrrrrRrrrrr.....
Is it one with split Backdor ? I have an eye on our local ebay clone www.ricardo.ch... maybe i can find such a HP rack
Tomorrow I will take two of my rails to the metal shop at work... cutting them a bit :D

The door isn't split per-se, but it does open. It's just a full door. But it can easily be removed by just lifting it out.

mine has the split door on the back. Its a fantastic rack but quite expensive to be honest.

The newer version of the rack has the split doors. I want one of the preious ones with the single door like Blitzrommel's.
I found some interessting stuff on http://www.racksolutions.com during a short research... Maybe i go for a heavy duty sliding shelf...

@Blitzrommel
Do you have pictures of your setup ??

My rack looks very similar to your HP one, it's just a Compaq one that is colored beige rather than black. They have exact looking handle, front mesh, and mine has a single back door aswell.

Ok ok... im just half a man :(
But now i try to build my own rack mount conversion... I can't life with th shame, not building my own racks :p

Page 89, third to last post. I just linked 'em, didn't want to flood that page with 1600x1200 images.

Yeah my rack's about 7-8 years old now, made for HP NetServers. Fortunately it's just a standard 4-post rack with rounded holes (clips are a pain to get though) and plastic side panels that I do plan on putting back on eventually. I now have a closing date of Feb 23 in my new place, so that's when I'll have my new setup done. :)

Ahhh... sorry. Of course i saw the pics before...
Racksolutions has some nice stuff... but no HP to IBM rails... I didnt cut my rails today, because i think it still wont work :( I have to design my own mounting brackets now...

Finally came up with a configuration I think I won't screw with for a while. Went with a Smoothwall router (PC on bottom), a Netgear gigabit switch, and good 'ole Linksys wireless access point for good measure. Gotta' love eBay!

second that

i wanna see more server setups in racks :)

I will try and post a picture of my rack updated when I get home and am not on the internet through my phone, but my setup needs a little cleanup plus I will be getting a 1U web server soon and another 24 port switch,

Hey! Don't knock it if it's workin'!! I've used some ancient equipment myself in the past. Actually it's been some of my best items.

True, i've used the BEFW1154 in the picture for the past five years. I can't wait until i get a job and can afford some better equipment though.

It's a 6U flight case I scored off of ebay. I believe the make is ABS. I'll have to check however.

Not too shabby. Its clean. What kind AP is that(PoE ftw!)?

I noticed you're from NJ, what surrounding area(I work in Monmouth county)?

Here is the server rack in my basement. It was a freebee from work about a year ago. 24 port patch panel and hp pro curve are work toss outs. I just punched all the cables down and got new 1ft blue cables. Only pc in there going is the black sonata, its my media center edition pc for recording tv shows. Top small pc is a p3/512pc100 smoothwall.
