Yeah... as for the iphone... I don't need it. In any major wi-fi city (so any city with the usual number of Starbucks coffee shops) just bust out the laptop if you need to access the internet... 8GB of music space is not enough for me, and quite a few in the iPod fan base (note: fan base, not user base, therefore barring the inclusion of every "hot topic" trendy 15 year old girl that uses the stock apple earbuds).

I just want something out to compete with the Zune. Regardless of software, Apple's getting creamed with functionality (cue people that don't think widescreens/FM tuners/(crippled)wireless/better sound quality/more maneagable video formats are important... start flaming... NOW). The widescreen on the Zune is a huge selling feature, and since most users are used to the 4g (and earlier) ipods, the extra thickness is nothing.

At least we know Apple's designing something like this... for release soon... Anything's better than nothing.
 
Now that I have calmed down and read the thread a bit more I see that its only the original poster that got me all excited.
The rest of the posters are just making fun of him.
But what if this guy is telling the truth? :confused:
 
the OP in that thread promised a $500 charitable donation if she's wrong.
 
I have a feeling the only way she is not telling the truth is if she herself was lied to by her friend.
I know I know......it might be a fake like the rest but I dunno this time.

lol watch it be something like an iGame, though I wish it was something like OSX for PC and PS3.
 
Perhaps Steve finally captured that UFO that kept flyin over his house......u know....the one which was telepathically communicating all those product ideas to him over the years. I think was able to lure it down and capture one of the alien inside. Now hes gonna debut it at macworld. Hes gonna market it as the "I-alien"
Hes gonna clone it for the masses at $599.00 a pop. :D

Apparently in the description of the Apple's WiFi session at Macworld Expo, they let slip that they are revamping Airport hardware. From the article on http://www.powerpage.org quoting the course description - "Wireless networking is about to undergo major changes, with 802.11n, or Airport Extreme X2 and X4."
 
Anyone have a link to a live broadcast of the keynote? Doesnt seem to be on on apples home page that I can see.

Alternatively, any good irc channels discussing the keynote?

Apple doesn't stream the keynote live. It will only be offered as a download once it's over.
 
I sure hope you can play video and music on apple TV that is NOT purchased through the itunes music store. I would like to add and use my own content. I wonder what formats it can handle?

The hard drive on it is way too small. And without DVR functionality it's basically worthless to me. They already have a ton of these type of devices out there, this one just seems to be for those locked into apples DRM.
 
Holy shit, its like a phone, iPod and UMPC, combined. I'm seriously ordering that as soon as its up on the Apple site if its not like $1000 or something...
 
if it is around 300 i'll order one... It's probably gonna be like 500 tho huh?
 
well is there a new lineup of video ipods or not? That's all I was hoping for. I can't really follow the keynote notes...
