Bad Axe 2 or P5W64-WS Pro

Uh no, they don't. As mentioned, they made the reference 570/590 boards for AM2. eVGA and Nvidia teamed together to make the 680i board for Intel 775.

They might have "teamed" together to design the board, but its manufactured by Foxconn plain and simple. Just like the BX2 was designed by intel, and MFGd by Foxconn. Same same

My EVGA 680i board even had a "Foxconn" stamped socket cover.

I just thought it was amusing that Vanilla was saying choose the ASUS board over the BX2 because the Intel board was made by Foxconn. All the while, he himself chose a Foxconn board over ASUS in the 680i arena.

The Mothership of the new 600 series of motherboards out of the nVidia camp, eVGA charges its way onto the battlefield screeching Foxconn! That’s right, this mobo is a Foxconn produced motherboard with eVGA’s product badge(s).

Nvidia *supposivly* has tighter grip on the QC this time around, but they are still being manufactured by FC.

BTW in a bout 6 days ABIT will release their own 680i motherboard and they are aiming at 600Mhz memory overclocks. I have 2 8800GTX cards and an Asus P5W64 Pro meaning one of the cards is sitting idle (I received it recently though). The reason i have not switched my motherboard to an 680i one is because I am waiting for ABIT in hope that they have a better revision out. So soon I will find out,

I am into heavy overclocking 3.6Ghz on AIR and tight timings of 3-3-3-9-3 @800mhz but I want to go higher and that's why I invested about 1000$ in cooling (soon to install 2 loops of water then going to chiller or phase) and more will follow.

The P5W64 has been really nice and rock solid stable.

I never thought I'd see the day when an Intel motherboard would get recommendations for use in anything other than stock clocked systems.

I see you are intrigued. Review?

Personally, I just didn't plug in the HD LED light, and it doesn't bother me at all. I have faith such a slight issue will be taken care of in a future BIOS update anyway.

It already has been :) My HDD light works just fine now (using BIOS 2395).

There is also a thread on that subject, currently there are no plans for a D975XBX2 review that I am aware of. I'd love to do one, but there are other boards on the bench right now and Kyle doesn't seem to be interested in doing a review on the D975XBX2 at this time.

I can't speak for Kyle on that, so I have no idea why he doesn't want to do one, but I have my opinions. Right now the NVIDIA nForce 600 series is what's hot. RD600 is also an upcoming hot item. Frankly, as much as I like Intel motherboards, (and I do.) I think that these other boards are potentially more interesting.

I've had very little faith in abit lately. It's sad because they were one of my favorite board makers in the past. They've produced an awesome collection of Intel chipset based boards in the past several years and unfortunately that trend seems to have ended.

It seems unlikely that Universal abit can produce a better board than ASUS or eVGA/NVIDIA, but I am hoping they can.

This is not the first time I have seen requests from HardOCP readers for a review on this motherboard. It seems to me if your readers are interested in a review of a certain product then Kyle should listen to that.

LOL I love it! :D

Uh ok Son....

Foxconn makes random parts for motherboards such as I/O components, IDE connectors, and cables. That doesn't BLOODY well mean that they made the motherboard, as they did not. Guess what you see when you open up the static bag to an Asus motherboard, a Foxconn cover on the socket.

While I do agree that just because you see the name doesn't mean they made the board, Foxconn DID in fact make that board. This is well documented all over the internet and we all know the internet doesn't lie :p. I just think it's an overstatement to say "as they did not" when the opposite is in fact true.

Here's an example:

Edit* Nevermind. You are either legitimately retarded, or willfully ignorant.

Either way, not going to waste anymore time on this. You have been provided several links showing Foxconn makes the board.

So far, the counter argument is the equivalent of a very emotional "nuh-uh", I can see this isn't going anywhere worthwhile.

Believe what you want.
