After several hours of overclocking lol.. i finally got a stable score of 12742 with my single 8800 GTX. Does that score sound good to ya'll?

I'd say that 12,742 is a fabulous score. I just ran 3DMark06 for the first time on my new System:

QX6700 (at stock speed of 2.66GHz)
8800GTX
2GB XMS2
Gigabyte P965-DQ6

My first run ever, no tweaking or overclocking yeilded a score of 11,376. According to the futuremark web site, that puts me in 7,457th place out of 656,852 people who have submitted scores (top 1.1%). The highest score right now is 13,046 which is just slightly higher than yours. You are definitely in the top 1% with your score.

The highest score was obtained with a E6700 running at 4.5GHz, and a pair of Radeon X1950XTs in Crossfire.

Try again.

K|ngp|n w/ 23,000 3dmark 06. Default everything. no AA, no AF.

Nitrogen cooled X6800
Two 8800GTX's in SLI.
a 680i mobo.

I'm looking at the results page right now, that's what I see, a max score of 13,046. Do you have a link to the 23,000 score?

Yeah, 23,000 seems too far fetched for 06.....now the 05 version, I could see.

What's the point of this discrepancy with a 5 digit number that, realistically, means nothing?

Clearly it means something, otherwise why would you waste the time to post?

Look, I know these are synthetic benchmarks and don't represent real world performance, however they are quick, simple, and available to everyone, so they are good for comparisons within the context of the benchmark itself.

Real world benchmarks are far more representative of true performance, but they can be tedious and time consuming, such as the video encoding numbers I posted in another thread. This thread is about synthetics, so lets please not turn this into a pissing contest about the merits of various types of benchmarking.

I ponder as to why many of the people actually do post the things they do.
what's the point of drag racing? what's the point of ice fishing. it's called a hobby. if you don't understand it, fine, but take your disrespect elsewhere.

Fine, i'll take it to the motherboard section if that means anything to you.
