Looks like there are no misc. ones in southern Denver so I'm going to mount a "dual strike" on Sunday morning. I'll be at Target and I'll send my fiance' to the BB across the street. One of us should be able to grab one. I can't see EIGHTY people showing up at opening time on a Sunday and it's not a release day or Christmas Eve.

Around here, Long Island (Suburban NY), lines have formed at my work of hundreds of people on days we dont even have Wiis.. sometimes i cant wait to go out on that line and yell on a megaphone we dont have any.. its become my sunday ritual.

hurts at the same time because i want a Wii just as bad.. but i work EVERY sunday morning and cant sit on a line.. and my girlfriend wont wait more than 4 hours on a line :/

I talked with a few of the gamestops around my area and they are holding for sunday. I didn't really care about the system I just want some classic controllers now(found my needed wii remotes). One of my clients was looking for a wii though. May have to try to get one to sell him(at cost) but I don't really want this guy to like me that much. He already likes me over some of the other guys I work with and I would like to not be the only one stuck always going over there.

My brother and I plan on each camping out at a different best buy...or maybe somewhere else. All I know is that I am calling a lot of places tomorrow to try and get the best info I can.....I really want to get one so I dont have to come up with a different gift to get for my sister.

EDIT:

I called Target, and they were playing coy with me. The operator seemed to ask her manager when I asked if and how many Wii's they would have Sunday. Her response was "All I can tell you sir is to be here when the store opens tomorrow morning."

Sounds like they already have some, but dont want a scene so aren't telling people.

Target- Unconfirmed reports, seems to be a possiblity

My target got 30 of them today (sat.) to be put on the shelves before store open tomorrow

Yeah, well BestBuy has 1 Chinese dude out in line and toys r us has 6 pissy looking people, I talked with the Chinese guy and got his number so I can check on how many people are out there lol....gotta play the game baby.

I'll be out all night though....I didn't want it to come to this but people are SERIOUS, Toys R Us has 30 units, Circuit City 12, Best Buy Minimum of 15......I'm hitting up best buy, they have more then CC even though the line has started.

At least it isn't 20F and pouring Freezing rain like it was for my Xbox 360.

This is crazy! It's not even launch and lines are forming! lol

When is the next shipment after this?

All 5 "releases" at the Target I work at have been preceded by 8+ hour lines... First console release in history that has had people lining up multiple times.

That is because with all other console releases they didn't do these "secondary" releases. They just said, we will get them when we get them.

Anyways I just came back from Best Buy, to my surprise there wasn't a single person in line. I was expecting a decent line since they were the only place actually admitting, and actively advertising that yes they would have them. What worries me is the guy I talked to said that the last sunday they did a secondary launch there was a mad dash to the door when the manager came out. I dont want that happening this time so I am going to do my best to document the line that forms, pictures and whatnot. Hopefully I can keep myself from getting trampled.

Just got home a few minutes ago and drove by a toys r us. Had like 2 or 3 people already in line. Can't see a game system being worth that much time. I have one and so does one of my friends. His dad wants to get his younger son one for christmas. Offered 100 bucks over retail for one. Might see if any of the ebgames don't have long lines around an hour or so before they open tommorrow. I really just want some classic controllers but hell if I can make 100 bucks in the process.....

When I left work tonight there was no one in line, but that could change fast. But we only got 6 in this time around.

Passing target on my way home I could see a few people out front, but they might have been just milling about rather than lining up.

I got incredibly luckey and picked one up on wednesday so no camping tonight yay.

I was at Bestbuy this morning around 11, and there was already one tent up.

Thankfully on launch I only had to wait 6 hours...I can't imagine 24+

does Target do a ticket system?

The Target I work for does a ticket system. We basically go out an hour before hand, pass out a ticket with some boxes on it and simply take your order. You check what you want and based on stock and your position in line you get stuff.

Like a couple posts back, it's basically another launch.

Many of the other targets in my general vicinity do a similar thing, except the accessories aren't included on the ticket, you have to grab those after/with your system, the ticket is just a voucher for slot in line there (which makes more sense to me, less work for us and more work for the customer) ;)

Struck out.
same, looks like people camped out at every store selling them within a 15mile radius of my home. target had a line wrapping around the back of the building, bestbuy had a slightly smaller line, and circuit city's had lines with about 20-30people, but the sign said they only had about 10 in stock.

Just got back from Best Buy. The store I went to had 24, and didn't actually fill up until about 3-4am. I got there at 12:30ish and myself and my friends were 3-4-5 in line. No Wiimotes unfortunately, but now I at least have a couple Wii's to sell, which works out well because I didn't really want to spend 300$ on this gift.

Same, we had 18 at our BB and the final one was just about spoken for at exactly 4:14am, CircuitCity had 12, Toys R Us had 30 and a line wrapped around it.

I was #2 in line....10pm-7am, same shit different year(f'in console shortages)I also had someone get a second ticket and I sold it to this guy who offered $100 for it couple hours we got there, cool with me, Wii for $150 and he brought me dunkin dough nuts, got me a nunchuck, wii points, and raincheck for the remote.

Bestbuy here had <20, filled up some time last night apparently. No Wii for Mii :(.

Apparently the CC nearby had a huge line and people had been camping out all night, only to find out the next day that they had 0 ZERO units. I went by Frys just for kicks; they had none either.

Well, my Target sold out last night! They sold "tickets" to pick them up this morning and they only had less than 20 in the first place.
My Best Buy also did the ticket system for the 30 they got, but at least they started it this morning.
Circuit City got in 9 and they sold 'em 2 hours before the store was supposed to open!
On the plus side, I guess no Wal Marts around here got any...but they might in the next few days.

Just came back from Target with my brother & my friend. My friend drove past at 2am and there were a couple of cars, but we held off until 4am. At 4am, there were about 6 other people in line. I arrived with my bro at 5am and we were 9&10. My friend's sister works at Target and she counted 14 Wii's last night. People who called last night were told 15. Lady came out this morning and told us 12. They also had 6 PS3s, but you could only get a Wii or a PS3. There was maybe 30-35 people in line when the doors opened at 8am, but we were letting people know when they arrived what the situation was. Most left when they heard, but some stayed anyway, and of course, got jack shit. So the 3 of us walked out with a Wii a piece. I wanted to get another nunchuck, but they didn't have them at the service counter and by that point I was too lazy to walk across the store to check. It was probably the coldest night it's been in Vegas all winter, massive windchill. But the first 12 of us were cool and pretty buddy buddy by the end of it. My friend and I smoked cigars, and we all shot the shit. I was very disappointed with Target's attitude about the whole thing. The lady from the store who was our liason wasn't very helpful. They gave no numbers, took no names or anything. We thought it would get hairy about 7;30, but it ended up orderly.

Other Targets in the area had up to 25 allegedly.

I just got my 4th Nunchuck and 4th remote at EB's
Picked up the Twightlight Princess guide and Zelda collectors Edition while I was at it.
Would have got another Wii if they, BestBuy or Target had any but none did.

My friend waited at Target since 3:30 am and at 7:15 am they told him they only had 18 available. He was #21 in line.

=/ @ Mountain View Target

WHAT THE HELL

I came 4 hours early to best buy. They had 21 Wii's. I was 23rd in line.

I got somewhat lucky, sorry all to those who were cut short-_-;

Local Target only had like 15
Besbuy also didn't have much
CC had around 6
TRU had a well-rounded 27

We originally planned on going to Target, but a bit before 4:00 there were like 30+ people already camping out, I guess it's because they were so open about having the Wiis, same with BestBuy I'm assuming... CC wasn't as big but still many people there.

So we gave up on those stores and tried our luck with TRU, we were like the 9th people in line (9th, 10th, 11th to be exact) after the final headcount. I honestly didn't even know if they were going to have any on sale since their ph0ne calls were ambiguous about how they get them randomly throughout the week. But I guess that worked out better than actually knowing the Wii was going to be there else it would have been severely camped like Target. Luck is a good part of it too I'm sure.

edit--
Also tbh, the campers and employees were especially helpful and civil at TRU, +1 for them! The "head" camper took down a list of people and the employees told us the availability and let us wait inside the entrance near the shopping carts at around 6:15.

Would be nice if you posted where your at.

I have a $40 coupon and going to give it a shot.

We'll see if I can get one with a coupon.... In NYC Queens.

I live directly above my local EB Games. Woke up at 9:53 AM, my roommate rushed into my room and shouted "Let's get a WII!!!"

We ran downstairs, got in line at 9:57. Store opened at around 10:05.

There were 8 people in front of us, and only 6 systems.

Close... no cigar. Worth a shot though:p

Got to my local gamestop 2 hours early and was greeted by a line... seems they got 6 in and had already handed out tickets to the first in line. Makes me wonder how big the line was before I got there >.>

So glad I bought one off my friend right after launch. I HATE the idea of standing out in line in the cold. You'd think they could launch these things when it's not freezing!

Sure, I paid $75 higher than retail, but that's 8 hours of sleep I got!

Wow. I can't believe lines are still forming for the console a month after launch... Especially considering that Nintendo has shipped close to a million units to the US. That's impressive.

I'm glad I lucked out and walked into a GameStop ten minutes after they received a shipment. I hate lines.

I walked into my local wal-mart at 2am and they had 2 left, so I picked one up. :) No line or anything.

I stayed up until 7am playing Zelda. I am so happy I picked up extra controllers and the component cable in advance. I now have a complete setup.

I climed out of of bed about 6:30 am. Decided to see what kind of line was at Target. It was the coldest night we have had for awhile. The campers really earned their wii's. Anyway there was about 25 people in line 10 minutes before opening. So I was about 26. Some guy wondered back and told us that a Target employee had come out an hour ago to let them know there was only 21 units. I can't complain since I was too lazy to camp. I was there at 8pm the night before and there were only 4 people camping. Had Target got a larger shipment like I was expecting I would of been golden. Close and no cigar. Can't wait until I can just friggin walk in an purchase the damn thing.

See thats what people like you think, you dont realize the huge number of people that get turned away as the night goes on. The line I was in at Best Buy must have turned away well over 100 people, letting them know that all the Wii's were spoken for. There were still a number of people who ignored us though and wasted their time.
