Im putting together a Web/DNS server, but i dont want to do it on my laptop, so i need a desktop to leave at home to use as the server. Would like to spend 300 or less. My only requirements are either an AMD or Intel 64 Bit (Opteron or Xeon preferable) 1gb of ram, and 100 gb of hard drive. No OS needed. (going to be running Linux), no monitor/keyboard/mouse. Post offers, will be buying towards the end of December/ Begining of January.

Remember, 300 limit, unless its a nutty system, then we can negotiate.

Good luck finding those specs for $300. If you want to go really low end... I have a Via C3 board/proc I'd sell you for $30 shipped. $50 and I'd toss in 512mb of PC133.. $75 and I'd find a case, cdrom and PSU... don't have any hdd's I want to part with ATM though. That guy has a 64 bit itanium system that would do it for you. Not x86 but it does run linux or better yet BSD.

Anyway dude in that range you should be able to find a 64 bit amd sempron or maybe a athlon 64. Look around although it will prob have a smaller drive. Also check the dell refurbs and stuff like that.
 
another bump for the day. If i dont see anything i really like in the next day or so, ill wait until after christmas break, and the start of the second semester when i get money back from school, and maybe up the limit to 1000.

you can build a rig with a 3700+, case, PSU, ram, HDD for aboput 300 on newegg...

I would thin off the top of my head..

3200+ - 3700+
BIOSTAR TForce6100 motherboard
some ram (1gb for web server? your on crack! 512mb is plenty)
HDD... 160gb
some random case and PSU
