300GB SATA $69 Shipped

$70 deal still alive here. 23c/gig is a great deal for a general storage drive, especially w/ 16mb buffer.

I'm going to jump on it now that seagate/maxtor bumped the warranty back up to 3 years.
Actually even less, since the "Seagate" ones are 300 + 20 GB free.

Mine says will be delivered tomarrow also. I hope it's with the 3 year warranty also. But I think it's the 1 year warranty though.
Either way....Drop it like it's Hot! ;)
All maxtor drives are now three years. Quote from here
" The new three-year limited warranty applies retroactively to all Maxtor Hard Drive Kits in retail channel inventory, or purchased by consumers on or after October 1, 2006."

I received mine today, so just to clarify...

It is a 320GB DiamondMax 21 drive with a 3-year warranty.

I got mine today. Its just a straight 300GB Maxtor. Still good enough for me. :p Especially with the 3 year warranty.

Really? You'd think they'd all be the same. The box said 300GB, but there was a green sticker that said 20GB free on mine. The drive itself says 320GB.

I agree about the warranty though. It's more than I was expecting.

Did you buy the $59 SATAI one?

i got mine today and it was a 300gig maxtor sata2 3.0g
diamondmax 10 model: 6V300F0 :)

Got it yesterday. Pretty darn quick shipping! Now I just need to get motivated enough to install it.

Forgot to add - It's a Maxtor (not a re-badged Seagate)

I got mine yesterday, hooked it up, windows booted slower than usual. I did some reading and found that his is normal for my setup. Something to do with the 3rd drive. Ok fine. I decided to copy a buncha files to the drive and take it back out of my system and put it away somewhere. Then I went to restart my computer. Nothing...didn't even make it to post. I reset the CMOS and the computer booted at stock settings. However, the asus "stock" settings, don't correctly detect my ram speeds (says it's ddr 200 instead of 400). So you have to go in and manually set it to 400 (or 333 or 266 with overclocking the FSB). But, when I changed it to 400mhz (no overclocking) system didn't post again. So now I can't get my ram to run at the speeds it supposed to. WTF ? How could this be caused by installing and removing a HD? I'm going to troubleshoot more later. My FPS in games is like 25 fps lower now with the ram at half speed :p

Got mine today, very fast ground shipping from Ohio (only ordered on Weds.) Anyway, I got a seagate 7200.10 320Gb, so less than 22 cents/gig. Sucks to be you guys getting the maxtor 300s :p

Are you finding that the HD shows up as 320 once you turn on the computer... or does the box say "320"

I got motivated enought to install mine in the case.. but I have not plugged it in yet :)

Depending on what you ordered:

The L01F300 ($69) is a 320GB SATAII. The box has a "20GB free" sticker and the drive itself says 320GB.

The L01S300 ($59) is a 300GB SATA.

You shorted something out on your mobo when you did the install. At least that's what happened to my buddy. Same exact problem description. If all else fails, tear everything apart and rebuild it. You might have bumped something durning the drive install.

i got mine today, its the 300+20gigs sata

yes, i bought the 69.99 drive

very happy with my purchase
