First time I ordered from ZZF...an Intel Bad axe 2 MainBoard, and some other stuff totaling $1500. At the exact same time, I ordered another $500 worth of stuff from the Egg. The Newegg stuff will be here tomorrow, and the ZZF stuff is still in "processing". Both ordered with the same credit card, and 2 day delivery. I don't think I'll give ZZF very high marks.

Newegg has always been the fastest in shipping
Clubit is a close 2nd
Mwave is usually the next day
Zipzoom is usually a couple of days then ship

But don't worry with Zipzoom I've always rec'd what I ordered. At least that should give you a bit of comfort.

Plus Newegg just has a great return policy even though I've never had to use it!
 
I usually order half my stuff from ZZF cause it's cheaper, and since almost all their shipping is free I don't mind waiting an extra day. Their hard drive packaging is topnotch, among other things.
 
zzf is slower, but fairly reliable.. they ususally ship the 3rd day... I don't like that tho unless zzf has a much better price.. but I am all about the egg witht that same day turn-a-round. that rules!
 
Not much zipping zooming or flying going on there if it takes them that long to process. I would demand my shipping for free since you paid for 2 days. That's preposterous that it took them that long to process your order. Did your credit card address match your shipping address? Some times that can hold it up. Newegg might be the smarmiest, price gougingist of all the etail computer companies, but their processing and shipping is pretty much 2nd to none.
 
Iv'e always had my orders from ZZF shipped within 24hrs, they dont always update their site so fast so it may have shipped but just not updated. /shrug.
 
I'd rather have a package come in a few days late than a bare hard drive floating in half a box full of packing peanuts. That was my most recent newegg experience. I've had good experiences with them prior to that, however.

Looking forward to your review of your new setup. I'm contemplating a similar setup in the not too distant future.
 
Newegg has a better return policy, from my personal experience.
 
Zipzoomfly's shipping sucks in my experience. Took me over a week to get my two day shipped power supply. I specifically checked the box that said it was going to a business, but know, they ship it fedex residential. Which means they tried to deliver it on a Sat and then to top it off, Fedex residential doesn't deliver on Mondays since they still take two day weekends. So I ordered on a Monday morning (EST before 10 am) and I receive my two day shipped power supply a week and a day later, newegg stuff got there on Thurs. Entire build done except for the power supply, waiting an extra five days.

Basically the same thing happened to me. They took FOREVER to ship, even with overnight that I paid for. Lame.

I even wrote them an e-mail complaining (sent to multiple e-mail addresses), saying that I wanted my money back for shipping since it took 1 week for overnight delivery. Did I get a response? Nope.

I'll never buy from ZZF again.

Yeah lol -- ZZF definitely has much better HDD packing.

Just bought about 1k work of stuff from ZZF and it was here in under a week with their free shipping. No probs.
 
I just had a bad stick of Corsair XMS ram from ZZF, so i sent back for RMA, will let you all know what happens...
 
I wish I had read Resellerratings first...they don't have a good record. I'll give them till Monday, then try to get hold of somebody. If not I can always dispute the charges to Visa. That may get thier attention.
 
Yes ZZF takes a little longer than Newegg to ship things. But I will say that Newegg's RMA service is the BOMBSHEEZY compaired to ZZF...FYI
 
I guess I'm just unlucky with the egg. I have NEVER had a single order from Newegg ship the same day as purchase. 70% of the time it's the day after, 30%, it's two days after.
 
newegg 4 me. Always same day shipped and never arrives later than advertised.

Just got an order yesterday 1 day early.

They are the king, mWave comes a very close second however.
 
ZZF used to be better than Newegg. I have been using both of them, but now ZZF is losing its mojo. They used to have free 2nd day fedex shipping which was awesome, but now they charge $1 for it.

I recently bought one product from newegg and second from ZZF, both free shipping. I got my newegg in 1 day, but zzf will be here in 5 days.

To me both are good. Lately I have been giving ZZF a few more orders.

I would never buy an OEM form the egg until they change the ship policy on them.

Egg = fastest to anyone... NO comp. ZZF is decent. I ordered stuff from egg and zzf and they usually get hee 1 day later or so. Keep in mind it's usually FREE shipping. No complaints but in service egg is top. You pay a bit more for service thats the best. Period. No Crying.
 
I agree with most that ZZ is probably a little slower. Newegg has a better distribution system as they have a warehouse on both coasts.

That said, I had a bad falling out with newegg recently, well with their customer service anyway. After blowing me off several times, I had to file a fraud claim with PayPal in order to force them to refund me for an order that was canceled and never shipped. On principle alone, or at least until I cool off, I'm not doing any more business with newegg.

They're both decent..... ZZF takes a couple days longer, but it's all free shipping and their prices are consistently the lowest.

If you want stuff quicker, go with Newegg.
 
It really just depends I guess.

My last two orders from ZZF have shipped same day... which is more than I can say for NewEgg.

wow.. it must. I have had exactly the opposite experience.. also, when I was waiting for my order hoping it would come soon, from zzf, I looked up their reseller ratings and they have dropped quite a bit.. down to 6.5 (with a lifetime avg of 8.5) gah! glad you've had better luck with them, though.. I do like their prices but they move too slowly for me.

some discussion (dated about a year ago) on the resellerratings forum about the egg vs zzf.. check out post #14. this person brings up some interesting tid-bits on the egg... I used to love to use fedex from the egg and also notice that the fedex prices are WAY higher now.. I can't use it really.. and UPS comes to my house so friggin late in the day.. kind of sux0rs.. anyways.. just thought that was interesting..
 
I've ordered a fair amount from both ZZF and Newegg and they have both given excellent service. I would reccomend buying from either to everyone I know.

Same experience for me in which I gave lower ratings... I ordered Thursday night and it wasnt shipped until the following Wednesday... TOTALLY unacceptable... Back to Newegg for a few $$ more.
 
I live in CA. I generally opt for 3 day shipping from Egg, and it always arrives the next morning.

Simply excellent selection, pricing, and shipping from egg. Haven't had to deal with their RMA dept though.
 
i like the egg the best . but i have ordered from ewiz, m-wave and zip-zoom fly and have got a deal from them from time to time. i usually get mb from the egg because there rma has a very fast turn around. :cool:
 
Newegg is the fastest by far. Well at least from where I'm living (south of the valley in CA). I ordered a Logitech G15 keyboard and a Razor Copperhead on 11/16, and it arrived on 11/17. No rush processing, and no overnight shipping. Just the standard 3-day. Everything I buy that ships from CA consistently arrive in 1 business day, however stuff from the east takes 3 days. Either way, its hella fast. I buy hard drives from ZZF, and they get things here within 2-3 days. Both are fast, but you can't beat a 1-day wait. :D
 
ZZF has free shipping, which is great for things like cases. Newegg doesn't always ship fast either; I ordered a fan on thurs with standard shipping and it came on wed.

my experiences with both companies is Newegg says they are shipping when they are really shipping...i have recieved packages from ZZF while the site still says the order is still in the "processing" phase. bottom line all my packages arrived when expected, but ZZF just doesnt provide enough accurate information for me to be confident the order will come when i want it...
 
If I want it faster I always go with Newegg. ZZF is good for stuff I don't really need right away. If I want it FedEx'ed next day or in two days, I go with whoever has the product cheaper w/shipping.
