The reason I'm doing this is i hate having a tower for Monowall box in my closet. Two i have a broken PS2 and i thought it would be fun.

Here is what is going to happen.
#1 extend PS2
#2 Fill void
#3 Fit mobo
#4 Fit PSU
#5 Wire two ethernet jacks from NICs to backplate.
If possible.
#6 Wire PS2 switch for mobo l/O and hdd/power LED.

Well on with the pictures.
the motherboard,NICs. the cpu is a 733p3

give you and idea of how tall it is.

and the ps2 guts.

PS2 case.

On to the moding.

Mark the cut.

Make the cut.

PS2...In two.

I forgot to take pics of bridging the gap. which was a huge pain in the butt.
but i have after the fact in Bondo.

how i did it was make Bondo bridges with plastic(2 on each side) and then i layid Bondo over it. then let it dry and repeat until i got a full slab of Bondo bridging the gap.

1st coat

Back of the ps2 unsanded

Inside of the bottom un-sanded.

1st sanding.

Update:
Oops........

it seems that when the haves were taken apart the back half of one side got out of whack.
but its not a big deal as you can see in the picutre i broke off the back part and screwed it down in the right place. so now all i have to do is bridge the gap and backfill *sigh* and sand again.

motherboard test fit

the case needs to be trimed in a few select spots to make it fit.

PSU
the 120watt psu that will power this computer.

The ethernet jacks for external connection. and instead of an hdd im using an
IDE>Compact Flash adapter.

Here is the patch for the gap that happennd.

ill post more later.

Post your questions/comments.

i always wanted to put a computer in a PS2, though i never found one that didnt work. definitely cool, ill be following this.

Just call it PS3, then if it doesnt deliver you have an excuse :p

J/k, looks like a great idea

thanks for the input guys.
and i think i might just label it
PC2 Monowall

that is probably a PIII, since there were no PII's at 733 MHz for all I know (and wiki appears to back me on that).

Well i haven't made to much progress in the past two days because of the holiday.
But i did work some and got some essentials for the project.
