Hmmm now what do I go by?
CPU-Z shows Stepping 6, revision B2. But the actual code on my proc is L628B168.

Sounds like a conspiracy to me.

What you should do is send your processor to me and I will do a full investigation.

You better include your motherboard, memory and graphics card because it looks like your stuff overclocks like crazy and is nice and stable. Just what I need! :D

I'll try and get the stuff back to you before Christmas.

PS: I think that number on your processor is actually your serial number. Now when you try to return it a year from now when it catches fire, Intel will do a Google search, find you've been doing some crazy ass overclocking and will think twice about giving you a new one.

BTW: What other components are you using? 3400 MHz with stock voltage is great.
 
Not sure what the problem is. That SSPEC matches up with my info. They launched @ B2. What are you asking exactly?

Lets break that out for you: L6 28 B168

L6 = stepping (ie: 6)
28 = week 28
B168 = Code (this is not the revision of the stepping, its like a serial #)

I believe the started with like A100... through A999, now they're up to Bxxx with week32+, and from the initial results the Bxxx are overclocking quite well.

Anywho.... why does it matter? It looks like you've got a sweet ass chip, with a very nice overclock with low voltage, etc.
Just enjoy it, go play a game or something.
 
I'm not complaining by any means, just curious about the info. I am very happy with this chip. I've had it at 3.5Ghz stable but that was at 1.5v on the core and temp got a little too warm for my liking. What I have in the pic is 3.4Ghz with 1.4v core. It stays around 60C under load in Orthos.
