Got your flamesuit on?

For one, I would buy it for MGS4 alone, let alone the Final Fantasy Series, Devil May Cry, etc.

ummmmmmmmm................ the games, if you have a really nice tv and surround sound, then that means you can afford it. But I never buy first gen consoles since there are always problems, heh for instance the Blue ray on it I heard sucks.

Same processor? Since when does the xbox 360 have a cell processor in it?
I played the ps3 today, it takes a tcpdump on the 360.

Odd, I found it to be vice versa, I wasn't impressed. Bottom line, no games on the PS3 lineup catches my eye.

the PS3 will have its GOW as well and people will be saying the samething about getting the PS3 instead of the 360. I personally think the PS3 will do ok after all the initial launch crap goes away. Lets face it, the software is what pushes the system through its life span, if the PS3 ends up having crap for software (I doubt it will) it will die, ala Dreamcast. I myself own a 360 and would someday like to own a PS3 as well, but right now I cant justify the cost of the PS3 as there is really no game that is drawing me to buying one at launch. But to say one game is a reason to no buy it is juvenile.

While I'll agree that GOW looks better than anything the PS3 has shown thus far (graphically, too)...saying one game's better than a whole system that's only just hitting the shelves is NUTS.
You can say you don't want one, it's too much, there are no games, etc. right now - but EVER? There have been plenty of systems that limped out of the gates but ended up kicking major ass over the years.

Ok, I was willing to believe that you weren't a !!!!!! before but now I think you're full of crap. There's nothing on the PS3 right now that can give you that impression. I'm really liking the look of resistance, and quite excited about motorstorm but what you've said there puts you directly in !!!!!! land.

Oh, and army of two is PS3 and 360. Looks good, hope EA doesn't drop the ball on it.

thread hijak: army of two is an EA game. nuff said.

as far as the OP? don't post again. stuff like this isnt necessary. there's enough flamebait out there without this.

its mainly the games that make or break a console to be honest. when the 360 came out i wasnt interested in it a whole lot. about 5 months ago it got my attention and i went out and bought one because of the games that were out and games that were coming out shortly.

with the ps3 however i feel that the price tag is just a tad too high for my tastes. unless theres a ton of games that come out for it that arent coming out for the 360 that i MUST have i cant see myself getting one for atleast another 3 years. as it stands right now though the planned games for the 360 over the next couple years looks fairly decent and i cant wait for most of them to come out.

how about an arcade perfect port of

Virtua Fighter 5

Who says it's going to be arcade perfect? I've heard they're making having to make visual cuts due to the low memory in the PS3.

That said, this thread is very unorganized. There are a ton of reasons to avoid the Playstation 3 right now, but none of them were listed.

I've seen this floating around for a while;

No component cables included
No scaler
No IR port
No headset included
No rumble
No custom soundtracks
No network media sharing of pics, movies, music
No background downloading
Limited iPod support
Limited friends list and voice chat support
Longer load times
Higher price
The pièce de résistance: the games don't look any better right now

All true.

While this thread is flame bait and should be lock, the xbox360 does seem to have the upper hand with:

Original exclusive games (Lost planet, Blue Dragon, Bioshock, Alan Wake, Shadow Run, Mass Effect, Too Human, Crackdown, Dead Rising, etc.)

Dashboard interface (background downloading, market place setup and material, completely unified voice chat and friends list, background music, ondemand video, etc.),

Software library (its been out a year, so it has the software)

Price (Not only is the xbox360 cheaper now, but with the PS3 losing money on each system and the xbox360 now making money on each system, the xbox360 will get a price drop sooner, too)

Availability (PS3 are jsut not on the shelves)

Graphics (Gear of War is the best looking console game out and readin reviews of multiplatform games all seem to run better ont eh xbox360)

Larger install base (developers go where the install base is)
