8800GTX gift from Mr. Nvidia!!!

Congratulations, Glen...

By the way, in spanish nVidia sounds exactly like "envidia" (spanish word for "envy"). Uhhmmm... why I have remembered it now? :p

Anyway, Mr. Huang have to visit Spain (with or without that nice cart).

Wait so he is the co-founder of Nvidia but he needs to wait until the release date to buy his company's products?

Its just P.R. looks good to see the head guys actually buying one like an average Joe.

Obviously if he wanted one for himself he would be able to have one way before its out. Who knows maybe he uses a 9 series prototype for his personal rig :p as the OP said he was buying them for his daughter.

My luck would be to meet Bill Gates in line at Walmart, I would make some joke regarding Linux and he would hire everyone in the store to kick the crap outta me.

I wonder if his daughter will come on here and brag about her 3dMark :p

It also looks better to buy your daughter a gift instead of just stealing office supplies. :p

She could also use the receipt to return the hardware and get an iPod.

Good Stuff. Glad you got a free card. Lets just hope you don't have to RMA it sometime soon. Trying to expalin that he purchased it for you will probally lead to a few giggles & a phone being hunged up on you =P. The most he would probally get me is some new Hip Hop CD seeing how Ghetto I be looking XD.

EVGA had reps there, working along with Nvidia people. They know whats up. I asked whether or not the EVGA GTS cards Nvidia was giving out as prizes were eligible for the "Step-Up" program, they said unfortunately no...but they did seem very obliging(sp?) to providing support for their products.

Question.. did you try to sign up for the "win this card: you could get a full refund!" program? lol.. I can see the advert on the bottom corner of your 7950..

Man that is incredibly generous of him. Even if he had given me one I wouldn't be able to use it :( still stuck in agp. Congratz on the new card man

wtf, you win a 7950GX2 and THEN you get the head of nVidia to buy you an 8800GTX? you are a lucky shit.

Are you emuricano? Philippines is not spelled with an F.
Philippines may not be spelled with a F, but when your talking about it's people, it's Filipino, not Philipino.

QFT, although it was a 7950 GT, not a GX2.

Man, I need to get myself to some nVidia events and meet me some nVidia co-founders. It would be good for my computer, and my budget.

No tagalog is what thier official language is based off of its not thier national language

Filipino (formerly called Pilipino) is the national language and one of the official languages of the Philippines—along with English—as designated in the 1987 Philippine Constitution. The language, a member of the Austronesian languages, is a standardized dialect of Tagalog. It is sometimes referred to as, albeit incorrectly, the generic name for the several different languages of the Philippines.

On November 13, 1937, the First National Assembly created the National Language Institute, which selected Tagalog, the indigenous language with the most developed and extensive written literary tradition (mirroring that of the Tuscan dialect of Italian), as the basis of a new national language. In 1961, this language became known as Pilipino, which was later renamed to Filipino in the 1972 Constitution.

Unless the R600 gives a lot better Transport Stream quality and speed, I will have to purchase an Nvidia card just because of this. It is a nice gesture no matter how much money he has. He did not have to do it.

Glen is one of the nicest guys in the Bay Area...and a fierce BF player to boot. Grats man. :D

Actually, there would be no reason for him to have to wait. However, by not hogging initial batches for himself there are more to go to press for reviews and system builders for demo/review machines...

LOL... this has nothing to do with it I bet. You guys are failing to remember that nVidia doesn't make cards.... eVGA, XTX, etc do. Of course nVidia gets early samples for testing but who really wants to run a preproduction card? It's very similar to my job @ intel. I can get all the Intel silicon that I want, I'm literally throwing the stuff away, but when it comes to getting motherboards it's a bit more difficult... and I work in a group that directly works with the OEMs/ODMs. Don't think that the guy has some higher moral code or some BS and is trying not to hurt the launch numbers.... not that it would have any affect on that anyway. He just doesn't want buggy, pre-production shit in his home PC. :D
