can you guys help me out with picking a good 2.1 speaker set up? i have been looking on the egg, but there are alot of choices, can you experts help me out? i will be using an audigy 2zs card with the speakers. i got a2.1 cyber acoustic setup now, and i am ready to step up a bit.

thanks

Yeah, how much do you want to spend? The logitech X-230 is perobly better than what you have now, but the Logitech Z-2300 is about $100 and much better, or even better are the Klipsch promedia 2.1 for around $150, or the M-Audio Studiofile 2.1 system for like $250 or $300. Just depends on how much money you want to spend, how good you want it to sound, and how much space you have for a sub! ;)

With that Budget, I would look into The Klipsch Promeadia 2.1, Infact, Best buy has them on sale this week for $119.99, So yeah, thats what id do, unless your just a diehard Logitech fan! ;)

another vote for the klipsch 2.1 setup.. I have a the set and my god they fucking rule. I had those logitechs also mentioned and the klipsch just took a huge crap all over them

Sorry for the hijack but is the M-Audio ones that much of a step above the promedia ones? I know a lot of people have talked about quality control issues with the promedia ones here.. is it as bad as people make out?

I am looking for a 2.1 setup not because of budget but because my room is not setup for 5.1 and it would look cheesy in the back.

There isn't anything wrong with the ProMedia 2.1 set. People who complain about them probably either have a.) a crappy sound card or b.) a lack of knowledge regarding equalizer optimization and presets.

The Klipsch 2.1 is a very high quality and reliable system. Many who've purchased Klipsch's 5.1 Promedia have had problems with overheating and/or blown amps in the subwoofer. I had my Klipsch 2.1 for over 5 years before I switched to a bookshelf speaker + amplifier PC audio setup. I never had one problem with my Klipsch system.

I had 2 ProMedia 2.1 setups for a 4.2 setup a few years ago. Both systems crapped out on me, but while they were working they sounded great. I wasn't driving them to insane volume levels or anything either, something on them would just eventually stop working.

Then again, a buddy of mine bought 2 ProMedia 2.1's and he's still using them.

Despite my unfortunate result with the ProMedia 2.1, I'd still recommend them.
