Hello. I just put my system together. So far, so good. I have 1 minor problem. The problem is that when I power on, the system waits a long time after POST before it accesses the drives and starts the o/s. Sometimes it just hangs there and I have to power it off or hit the reset button, wait again, then it might get past the POST. 1/2 the times I reboot it takes long to get past POST, the other 1/2 times it just hangs there. I have my dvd on the blue ide connector which I believe is part of the chipset IHCR7, and the 2 drives on the 3 SATA connectors for the same onboard controller. The floppy is also on the connector next to the blue ide connector. My bios is 1305. Other than that, all is ok. Any ideas? Thanks.

I disabled all the q fan stuff in the bios and it seems to be better. But it still hangs there for a good 15 secs sometimes after it checks the memory, before it does anything else.

You dont have to disable q-fan, what i did was put all the fan sensors that are not used to ignored worked for me :)

Yeah I have the same motherboard and I've found that disabling Q-Fan for everything speeds up the POST time. I also go through and disable everything that I don't use, like the serial port, on-board sound etc. Hope this helps.

Sorry about the link it was copied straight from the address bar, but it doesn't work for me either. :(

Go to www.extremesystems.org/forums
Scroll down and click Intel under hardware
