8800 GTS/GTX Pictures+Prices

Those cards is massive. Interesting to see PNY undercutting others on the GTS - still a lot of cash for a 2nd tier card.

Man I thought they were gonna be like 800$+ now that I see this pricing I think I will have to cancel my order for a 2nd 7950GT and sell mines to buy one of these beasts!

Holy crap, that GTS is quite tempting... any benches yet?

Still waiting to get my hands on one, specifically any GTS that's cheap (ie. with mail-in rebates LOL), because I can't fit the GTX in my case nor can I afford it.

Also remember the wattage requirements folks, especially on the 12v rails, the GTX requires TWO PCI-E connectors.

No official performance numbers yet, but GTX has 128/128 shader thingies and GTS has 96/96, there's this Chinese detailed review on the web but I can't read it that well. Nor do I really know what the difference pixel shaders/etc etc mean, I'm too lazy to read the whitepapers. But the GTS is supposed to be equivalent to current cards like X1950 XTX and 7950 GX2, but time will tell.

Dont worry! I just bought a 900w power supply tonight with 4 dedicated 12v rails! :D

it looks like BFG and PNY beefed up their sticker looks, looks pretty good

i used to like EVGA's but they dropped the cool nalu sticker and went witht he ginormous "E"

The PNY one looks like it takes a normal 6pin pcie power plug, and a 8 pin cpu/mobo one. Looks like VIVO is missing again too, at least on the BFG. I was hoping that NVIO or whatever chip would have it built in.

Sexy beasts, but do they deliver?

I just read that Crysis got pushed back to April 2007. That pretty much means that first gen G80 will be DX9.0 cards and G81 with R600 handle the real DX10 games. Or thats how I see it anyways :)

Anyways good to see the price will be lower than anticipated. Still I would not call em dirt cheap :D

Aside from Oblivion, there aren't many games out now that would tax my current card w/ the 2007WFP. Tho, I'm with everyone else here...if Obliv runs mad faster...well, it'll be ramen noodles for a couple weeks. :p

YESSSSSS!

BLACK PCBs FROM eVGA!

you mean black PCB's from Asus?

Asus makes ALL of the cards, then the other companies design their own cooling system to slap on the cards they receive from Asus. thats why there hasnt been much clock differentiation in the latest cards.

:)

Alright... what's the significance of the "Blue Man Group" dude on the BFG boxes?

PNY is mine :D . If PNY keep the good thing like my 7600GT which can overclock to 700/840 with out VMOD, i am all over it. :D

The guy turned blue after seeing the awesome performance / IQ produced by the G80. He then proceeded to put his hands on top of his head, because he's looking at himself on a mirror.

I wish video cards were cheaper again, where $250 was a whole lot of money for the top of the line video card

The blue man guy has his hands on his head because he cant believe his kid just spent over 1200 dollars for 2 computer video cards. He blue because his blood pressure is about to kill him.

We also need some rebates promotions on $449 GTS to bring them down to $350 :D

Black Friday here i come :D

See this situation: FEAR. At full settings. 1680 x 1050 native resolution. Pure. Freaking. Beauty.

Oh man. I wish I was still playing enough to justify getting one of these. They look awesome.

Ah well, my 7800 GTX will tide me over 'til the refresh. :D

nVidia went the way of ATI on pricing. Too bad. Guess I'll be skipping these cards and waiting for the 8600 series. :(

!!!!DANGER!!!! !!!!AWESOMENESS LEVELS REACHING CRITICAL MASS!!!!

!!!!!!!MELTDOWN IMMINENT!!!!!!!

O SHI-

So what is the word on power requirements? Anything different or are numbers still the same. If so can someone post them again. Thanke.

I believe it is 500w PSU for a single 8800, and 650 for two? I believe thats what it is..

1x 8800 GTX 450 watt
1x 8800 GTS 400 watt

But this is what you really need to look for:
GTS 12v rail 26A or more
GTX 12v rail 30A or more

One more thing guys, BFG+XFX cards have HDTV output ie: Component outputs.

BFG+XFX Lifetime warranty
EVGA Tradeup program
PNY nothing that I recall of, that's why they are cheaper.

Your list needs to be fixed:

BFG -- Lifetime warranty
XFX -- Dual lifetime warranties (if you sell it, the person you sell it to gets a lifetime'r too
eVGA -- Lifetime warranty and step up program (within 90 days you can step up to a better card)
PNY - Nothing significant.. usually just very cheap

Cards on the 8th, vista RTM on the 9th... it's gona be a fun week :D
Hope newegg gets enough to fill the mass orders they will get.

I always wanted a video card with a picture of an ugly digital blonde on its heatsink ..

with one of these new bad boys , I'll really be able to crank up the eye candy on my 14" CRT

it is more trouble to get an RMA from PNY unless you have a Quadro which they will cross-ship the new card.

so you get what you pay for

The guy turned blue with frustration after ripping his hair out trying to deal with BFG's "wonderful" tech support ;)

$650 for a single video card makes me a sad panda....

I've quit PC gaming for now but I've had 4 SLi setups in the past(6800U,7800GTX,7900GTX, 7950GX2) This is the end for me, the next PC I build will only have one video card. (I only paid for 2 of those cards or else I'd be dirt poor by now, ty Creative/BFG! :) )

Remember when Voodoo 2s cost like $300 each?

Don't worry. These are launch prices. They will eventually drop, though not as fast as one would expect, since ATI has absolutely nothing to compete with G80.
But $650 for a new card is nothing new. The 7800 GTX 512 debuted with MSRP of $649 aswell. And I believe ATI's X850 XT PE was also near that value, if not more.
I remember that when I bought my 7800 GTX 256, ATI released their X18xx cards about a month or so later. They were selling them here, for more than 700 euros, which is about $900.
Now THAT is scary :)

That eVGA will be mine. Or the BFG. Dont know which yet.

I NEEED THIS SHIT MAN
