I beat Farcry without cheating.

Just finished the game without cheating. The very last stage was the biggest pain in the ass.

I never really gave the game a chance before this last week. Glad I did, it was very good (and LONG). :)

I guess it's safe to say one thing you have yet to accomplish is knowing how to resize things to fit on forums nicely.

Back in the good old days:

Bards Tale 1, finished in under a week on a borrowed computer that I had to return in a week.

These were the days where we didn't have online cheats/clues and you had to draw your maps by hand, sometimes had to map dark areas of maps by counting your steps until you banged into a wall. Randomly teleported into different locations, you had multiple sections of map that you could eventually fit together. You could use up half a pad of graph paper just with the maps.

I wouldn't bother with a game that did this today, but it did lead to a greater sense of accomplishment when you finally kicked Mangar's ass.

Beating the campaign using only the pistol (you know, the one in which damge is completely ignored even with headshots).

Dude, he beat a group of 13 year olds who use their own name as their alias in a crap ass game!

Do not be so sarcastic.

Also, way back in June of '99 at my buddy's LAN Party, we were using his ISDN line and looking at fileplanet (back when it was free and no subscription). Under the "what's new" section there was a listing for Counter-Strike Beta 1.0. I was the 27th person to download it from fileplanet. I shared it on the network and my buddies and I installed it. Thus began 7.5 years of productivity decline for me =)

1) Destroying the second death star in the old star wars vector arcade game (the sitting down version)
2) Beating several of the tomb raiders without cheating.
3) Finishing Jedi Knight II without cheating
4) Beating Xan in Unreal Tournament w/o cheating.
5) Sucking badly at UT for a long time, but eventually improving enough to come out on top for 4 games in a row of multiplayer deathmatch. (I was on fire that night!)
6) I played UT capture the flag online every night for a few years, and one time,
right as the enemy flag carrier was about to score during a lightning fast paced match,
I launched my x-locator at him from quite a distance, telefragged the sucker
and returned the flag all when the enemy was within kissing range of his own flag!
The announcer shouted "SAVE!" and it was truly one of my proudest moments in gaming

1.) A couple of second places in Australian Elastomania records.
2.) A on Max 300 heavy on the actual game.
3.) AAA on all 8th mix songs on stepmania.

Finally beating the 3 songs that were haunting me on expert difficulty on Guitar Hero (Bark at the Moon, Frankenstein, and the Breaking Wheel)

I held off enemy team of 8 players byself in COD UO. Too protect drop flag for three and minutes, while my regroup to retake it. ;) Fear my sniper rifle :p

nothing really comes to mind as wow that was amazing!!!!
here are some fun ones though....

ive beeten quake 3 on nighmare
getting all my gear in mad max for my tandy... HATED that game... no save option.. you die you start over... i got pretty far one day... i dunno how old i was... but it was my first computer... radio shack tandy FTW :)

i remeber in highschool we played CS in a networking class, it used to be me and 2 others vs the rest of the class. and we would be going 20-0, 30-0 and there was always a few kids that would get so pissed they would stand up in the middle of class and say "SCREW THIS IM STARTING MY OWN SERVER!!!!! whoever is tired of this join my server"

hehe also i was always kinda proud to be #1 for nade kills on our server :D

Finishing Dragon Warrior, Phantasy Star 2, and the original Ninja Gaiden. (That was a byatch), oh.. and beating Mike Tyson in Punchout after about 20 tries.

Beating Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, Doom Evilotution and Doom Plutonia Experiment all on
ultra-violent within one week.

And Collecting all 120 stars in Mario 64.

God, I'm showing my age here...

Completing Xenon 2 Megablast on the Amiga with 1 ship, never dying once.

UT: lots of moments, but one or two flag runs in shockwave and UTI 3 were pretty hot. One on lava was mostly unassisted 'cause I fragged a couple and then double-doubled back then pistoned to deemer ridge and capped. Oh, and beating HV w/ me sniping 3x FC's (grim, sonix, and somebody else) from my end on hydro w/ them all ready across the bridge to maintain the lead. (yeah i have the demo somewhere....)

haven't played in years, though...

Reaching 'Elite' on Frontier Elite

Still not made Prince on the imperial rankings though. 12 years later.

Beating Hustler One / Nineball in the original Armored Core game for the Playstation. That mofo was hard. And that's still the best game in that series.

medal of honor multiplayer, bridge map. last 2 seconds of the last round. my brother jumped from the bell tower to be airborne before the map ended and he was sniped out of the air and killed while traveling down towards the earth, and the round ends. it was the coolest shot i have ever seen. that was about 4 years ago, and no other moment has come close to that moment.

personally, i beat zelda in one life.

ROFL, your shit. GG winning in public and thinking your good, trying playing some proper clan games scrub. In public games i get a kill/death ratio of around 50:1, often more like 70:1.

Yup me too, But I remember my ship getting so loaded with weapons at the last level that no enemies could even get near by.

I cut my RPG teeth on the BT series on my C64 back in the day. I know exactly what you're talking about. A good friend of mine and I worked through those games together. Good times.
