HELP!
I'm getting random lockups within the bios and at post. Here's my gear:

PSU: Corsair HX520W
CPU: Intel E6600
HSF: A.C. Freezer 7 Pro
MB: Asus P5B-E (Has bios updated to current one,)
RAM: Corsair DDR2-800 pc6400 5-5-5-12
VGA: ATI X1950XTX
HDD: WD RAPTOR 150 (set as ide, not using raid)

Basically, every time I cold boot, It'll lock up at a random time. The farthest I've gotten is Windows loading and it will lock shortly after the F6 option. Then I'll have to restart. Sometimes I'll actually have to kill the power to the psu and cold boot.
I've tried setting the ddr timing manually, also. One thing I notice is the cpu is showing 1809MHz speed. The bois sees it as a E6600 @ 2.4Ghz though. Any help will be gladly welcome.

Memory pass memtest? Reseat the HSF? Almost sounds like CPU overheating and shutting down the computer.

OK, set the ram to 1.9v , set the timing to 5-5-5-12 manually. Didn't see a setting for the T (t1 / t2). This bios is so differnet from the AMD ones I'm used to. WAY too many options to set and the manual is practically useless when it comes to bios "info".

Under the hardware monitor, it shows fairly normal temps. 95F or so. That's not too hot is it?

Starting to think the cpu is shot. Not sure. The rage is building!!

For an E6600, up to 62'c is a fair operating temp.

Intel boards don't use 1T memory timing, as it's tough to impliment with an off die memory controller, and has such a little performance impact!

If anything, this appears to be more of a motherboard issue.

Have you cleared the CMOS after the BIOS update?

Are you running at stock speeds?

Check to see if your CPU multi is set to 9. If you are posting at lets say a 7 or 8 this could lead to random lockups. With My P5b it mattered.

Thanks for the replies so far. I'm going to step out for a while and pick up again tomorrow morning. Need to get away for a while. I'm going to try from scratch again + all the advise I've gotten here. I'll keep you all posted. Later and thanks...

Well, tried all recomendations. Still having major stability issues. RMA'd the motherboard and cpu. One thing I noticed was that, the one time I got into the bios, the cpu showed itself having an fsb of 1066. I wonder if my Corsair ddr2-800 6400c5 ram is going to be an issue as well? Supposedly this motherboard can handle it. I'll have to wait and see what happens when the new junk shows up. So far core 2 and intel suck major ASS!! Newegg rocks though....

CPU and motherboard RMA'd? I wouldn't think the CPU would be bad, but you never know.
