Post Your College Setups!!!

Here is my College setup, even though I am still living with my parents. (Not for very long!)

I do have a DIY Tower, but I recently fried my CPU, and my brother needed a new case, so its in pieces for the moment, that is why there is no Desktop in the pic.

*EDIT* I have ordered the replacement parts today for my Gaming Rig a AMD Athlon 64 3500+ and a Thermaltake Mambo ATX Case w/o PSU (got a 500W Antec PSU already) on
Oct 15th 2006. Also have bought a Gateway FPD1760 LCD which according to Best Buy is a 8ms LCD, bu to everyone else is a 16ms LCD (including CNET)

No Comments??? I will admit that most of it is nothing special. I do think the receiver in the armoire is kinda cool. It is a Yamaha RX-V795A. In 2000 it retailed for $800, I bought it at a garage sale for $10. It came with the remote and is in MINT condition. It was the Deal of the Century!!

My laptop I bought from my cousin for $25.

I forgot to add that I bought the Receiver in 2003.

Thats a hell of a deal on the reciever ^^^. :D

While most of my room is boring (just a bed, closet, and a window), here's a pic of the good stuff:

LoL isn't it a bad idea for the health of your reciever to stack things above the vent?
If this question was directed at me...

Nothing is on top of my receiver. The black thing in the picture is just a power filter, which produces almost no heat at all and has no vents.

^_^

I think it was directed at me.

I am sure it is. There is about half an inch of space between the CD Changer and the Receiver. Which seems to me to be enough cooling. i keep it off when I am not using it. So it usually does not get very hot. If I kept it on all the time, then that may become a problem. :)

Well in case you don't get good grade, you can use that on your professor. :D
If your serious, that's very bad.
If your joking, that's very bad.

K, I moved this from the modding forum because it seems a bit more fitting in gen hardware, having really nothing to do with modding. You are now in BBS's hands. :D

Some people just like audio. I would actually be very surprised if this person was doing anything in an audio related field (in college)

I'm an undergrad at MIT persuing a major in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science--not technically audio per se, but it has major implications in audio (amp design, filter circuits, etc.).

laptop is a dell latitude d800

i'm in the process of building a desktop...so things might look a little bit differently here in a month or so when i have to buy a desk to put it on

I'll post a little update from my other pictures.
I added an asian folding fan to my wall. My parents found it in their house, and so I decided to clean it up and hang it in my room. I really love the looks of it!

Since it's pretty much peak fall time around here, I decided to capture the season with the view outside my window. (The glass isn't very clean, but I can't do anything about that).

Here is my dorm at the University of Oregon

dorm009gx0.jpg

we are on the 8th floor (top) and it is a high rise right next to downtown eugene, my view is of the downtown landscape (not picture because it was too dark), it is a very nice room

My goodness, those tables look awfully cheap (especially with the skinny legs).
Looks like the University of Oregon could do for a housing upgrade/revision.

yeah we got jacked on the tables, most everyone has newer desks, the rooms in this building are the best at Oregon, they put all the atheletes and "rich kids" in here, mainly because we all have personal bathrooms, toilet, sink, shower, this building use to be a hotel until the University bought it :D

Couple pictures of my setup, I don't live on campus, but I'm a senior at OSU:
