Where in the World did my sound go?

Anyway have any clue why I get no sound output when I play DVD's on my computer. Everything else I play out of the drives have sound except DVD movies? Codec problem?

Discuss....
 
you've probably got the sound output in your dvd player set to spdif. Change it to 2-channel.
 
Same exact thing happened to me a couple days ago. I installed a copy of PowerDVD that I found in my collection, and it fixed my problems because it installed the codecs I needed. Then I uninstalled powerdvd and my DVDs are working great now.

So you think it's a codec issue then huh? Seems like it to me, the video is perfecgt, just no sound at all.
