This mouse can be had at many onlines stores now. Buy.com has it for 31.99 with free shipping but I got mine from techonweb.com because they had it a day sooner. I payed 38 and some change at techonweb but I would say it's well worth it. Buy.com's free shipping isn't bad but they take their time getting the item out, you're looking at 3 to 4 days atleast. At techonweb they have the cheapest fedex ground I've seen, I ordered my mouse late Tuesday and it was shipped yesterday morning and I got it before 2pm today. So i would say the little extra I paid was worth it.

OMG. I got mine today. Ordered Thursday night from buy.com for 21 bucks shipped. Came today(Saturday!).

I love it. It might replace my G7.

for those in the bay area, i picked one up today at the fry's in fremont and they had tons in stock.

I've currently got an original intellimouse 3.0a and I am trying to decide between the new revision and a Logitech G5. If anyone has tried both and could provide some comparison comments I would really appreciate it.

I will be using it for BF2142, BF2, UT2k4 and WOW

thanks,

Jeff

Well, comparing this to the G5 there is no question this is better...I just got mine from Buy.com today.

I had been using an MX518, which I chose over the G5 (tried both, took the G5 back) and am now trying to readjust to my old love, the MSIE3.

Oooh, that's sexy... my original 3.0 is jealous...

Mine had a problem with the left mouse clicker failing. Opened it up. removed the metal click, bent it back into shape, replaced it and voila... my original 3.0 was back in perfect working order. I've had this thing for years (ever since it was first released) mainly because I wanted something with more buttons than the 1.0 for counterstrike. Love it. But I'm currently using a 518 for my gaming...

So tempting to pick up a new 3.0........

My local Staples didn't have any in stock, but would this be the same as the new revision?

EDIT: I guess not, the part number doesn't match up.

Has anyone spotted them in canada yet? My original IE 3.0 has been on it's last legs for months now.

i see no reason to go with the g5, the 3.0 is alot more comfy

Are any of these good for us lefties?

That Razer Habu mouse looks universal, but apparently some buttons make it righty only?

I HATE having such a limited selection in good left handed mice. I have an old MS mouse that looks a lot like these, but it's showing its age, and I'd like to line up a replacement :/

Just got mine from Compusa here in San Francisco yesterday. This is a great mouse.

This should be available at Frys Electronics (if you have any near you). 40 bucks out of the door. I bought two the first day they got them in. These were just released/shipped the 21st of september so we should see them popping up a lot more. Love these mice! Gonna pick up two more if there is a price drop at all.

Anyone using the new IME3.0 mouse with the IP6.0 software?

Can you check this out for me? Whenever I have say, Outlook, Notepad, Word, Excel, Photoshop and what have you open, if I switch from Outlook to Notepad and wait a few seconds, I'll see the screen refresh or redraw itself.

It will usually happen twice after I switched to the other program and wait for a few seconds. After that, so long as I stay on that program and don't use another and then switch back, it won't happen again. However, it gets really annoying seeing this over and over again.

I can kill the ipoint.exe and once that is done, the issue no longer exists. So I know it has to do something with the IP software. I was able to recreate the problem on another box of mine but I would like definitive proof of this bug by someone else confirming the problem happens to them too.

The mouse was just released to major B&M stores so I don't think a lot of people have it. But hopefully those who have already purchased it can chime in and then when the others do get one, chime in then too.

It happens to me at exactly 7-10 seconds after switching to that particular program.

I don't get that problem...I'm using the IP 6.0 with it. I like the new functionality and program specific keys though...working great so far :)

went over a friends today and his wife is using an old ms 3.0 with her laptop. She said its 6 years old and she hates it. I tried to trade her for a mouse i had in the car but she said no after i said it was a good mouse. Should have just kept my mouth shut.

Damnit, my eyes must be super sensitive to what I'm seeing or something because I swear it's easily visible. I even tried it on a clean install of Windows XP and it still happens. Damn!

Nope it doesn't happen with me also... I tried switching through with outlook and notepad but that doesn't happen for me...

Did you install the software before shutting down and plugging in the mouse?

I do have a slight problem with the IP software, I can't get middle click to work with firefox for the program specific keys... anybody successfully configure thiers so that middle click is the instant viewer while for firefox middle click is to open new tabs?

Sorry it doesn't happen with Notepad but if you are viewing Outlook, if you just switch to the desktop and then switch back, if you watch your panel area, you should see it just kinda twitch. It's similar in nature to refreshing your newsgroups in Outlook Express. When you click on the Headers button, you briefly see a little refresh. That's what I'm talking about.

Wasnt it only $30 something the other day?
I got mine for 20 bucks shipped from buy.com last week. Should have ordered 2-3 more..

Ordered the mouse via newegg becuase it was the cheapest. Got it today and i'm satisfied with it. A few nit picking things about the mouse i've found so far. The two side buttons are alittle more loose then the old version and the mouse wheel grinds harder. Otherwise it feels just like my 5yr old mouse.

bumpage

i'm diggin this hype!

might have to pick one up with microsoft 4000 keyboard next week!

how's everyone liking it?

I can't speak for the new IE 3.0 (still waiting to pull the trigger on a deal) but the 4000 is an awesome keyboard. I would highly recommend it over other ergo options.

Whereas my scroll wheel came in a bit catchy, as in the detents weren't very smooth as far as rolling consistently, it has improved as I imagined it would. I think I may wait until B&M stores around here get it and buy one there to see if that one would have the same problem and then just return this one in it's place as defective but things seem to be shaping up nicely.

I have it plugged into a PS2 adapter with the polling rate at 200 as that is how I ran my old one (old one was a little jittery through USB, which has a polling rate of 120) and things couldn't be better. I have adjusted from the MX518 I was using in the interim and the only thing I miss is the smoothness and reliability of the MX518's own scroll wheel. Whereas it was a bit too raised for reliable clicking, the detents were perfect for weapon switching as well as scrolling.
