Thanks.

Thx. Is there any user reviews out there? Kinda wanna hear hands on expierence.

they're pretty rare cards, i think the only manufacturer that uses them is Alienware

right...you're point?

I'm saying that the only laptops available with the x1800 are some by Alienware and the Dell m2010.

I've been searching for a new notebook for 3 months almost ...and im having problems deciding what to get....I'm not going with the aurora 9700 because i don't like the fact it has a single core amd ....I'm a bit reluctant about the dell 1705 because well i don't know ...just not sure i'll be happy with it ...i've always wanted an alienware ..and while a bit more expensive the area 51 m5750 is more my style ..but i'm having a hard time justifing in my mind paying more for how it looks ...I don't know ..guess i'm rambling ...wish i could make up my mind ...I need to find out how the x1800 performs...anyone have expierence with this card? seems to be a ghost..

Screw it! I have decided I am going to drop about $2,600 on the Alienware Area-51 M5750, and since there isn't any reviews for this laptop out there ...I will review it.

Estimated Ship Date is October 18 ..I'll post my review when it arrives!

would you mind listing the highlights of what you spec'd out and how much your final price was? Im still on the fence about spending 2k on a e1705 witha 7900gs or dropping another 5-600 for an alienware or XPS system..

My point is that in how you described the situation made it sound like you saw a clear distinction between the two companies. I was not attacking you, just remarking at the irony i found in the situation as presented.

Get more memory, or you'll be crying.

Something that powerful is going to be hindered severely by only 512MB.

2GB is probably as high as it will go, and believe me, the difference is night and day.

QFT. With a rig like that, 2 gigs will be heaven. that 512MB is going to seriously hurt your performence.

I'll upgrade the memory myself
It irks me when companies like alienware sell high-end systems with 512MB or 1 gig of ram. For 2.7k, they should atleast give you a gig stick.

Newegg For The Win. 2GB can easily be had for cheap. Do it up, you'll make us all jealous. esp with the 2.33 C2D. :D

I posted that the m5750 is more powerful then the m9700 at single gpu (some site that will remain nameless) because the x1800 is more powerful then a 512 meg 7900 gs and got banned.

I then emailed the mods and thanked them for the fact that they didn't want me posting anything truth about computers in a forum full of you know whats...

Lets see if I ever post THEIR again...

I liked this post the best:

"Poor G.o.D. you just dont get it.
Cry all you want that you use a typewriter to play games it doesnt change FACTS that real world testing proves pads are superior.

Learn to read, I SAID ut2k serries is not pad friendly, play unreal championship and YOU will get smoked!!!

All the games you want us to follow on have been grown into kb/mouse controls. Halo as it current Xbox incarnation and subsequent pc release was pad developed. Much like the IGN test, the thread I previously spoke of that you were tooooo lazy to read is based on testing of a Vista and Xbox360 codevleoped game, and in their test results pads won again, and not by a slim margin, but very dramatically.

So keep dreaming that typewriter gamers own.
Step out of the closet and you will relize your actually 2nd best."

but it's 667 MHz Cas 4 memory, it could be pretty expensive stuff. (they charge $160 to upgrade to 1 GB).

They should still give you 1Gig atleast. 2Gigs for a laptop close to 3k.

there are plenty of reviews of the alienware m5750 on www.notebookforums.com

I have 2 (i bought 1 for myself and 1 for my youngest brother)...

upgraded the ram my self (spend 2K on mine and 1500 on the other one)...so they are great buys imho.

and newsboys, I believe I was the one who banned you "temporarily" b/c you made as many threads as you posted, you can consolidate all your questions/vents/rants/information in one thread instead of creating a new one for each one...plus you were just plain out disrespectful and rude.

I have pics or I can answer any questions to the original OP on the x1800 or the m5750...

i heard there where a couple of reviews for the m5750 on notebookforums, but i unfortunately can not bring up that site ..along with hypersonic-pc ..i don't know why.. I would very much like to read the reviews ..also what's your opinion on the x1800? thx.

have you tried www.alienwareforums.com?

well I don't game as much as I used to (lack of time). I went w/ the m5750 over the m9700 since it has duel core duo 2 and I multi-task like crazy.

when i do play games, CSS, it runs it great...but I havn't really read any complaints from other members w/ the same laptop. so from what i've been told it runs oblivion, wow, and other recent games out w/ out any hiccups

thats good to hear lol ..I can't pull that website up either ..I'm overseas ..and have limited access ..heh. Either way ..I can't wait until i recieve my new toy ..and am able to do my own review on it.

Gues what guys, mine is shipping!

I live close to Alienware.

I should be able to do a review before he does.

But, I only start out with 512 megs of ram

it's ok to start out w/ 512mb...that's an easy thing to upgrade and cheaper too.

alienware is located in Miami...so if there's a hurricane...then there's going to be a delay in your system =D

no local pick ups @ Alienware...

I'll try to get Fear uploaded tonight and post the fps, I don't have Oblivion...I can run CS:S fps as well if they may help..
