Alright, so I've been doing some reading on these pages about large format displays.
I'm interested in the DELL 3007, but I'm also noticing people complaining about this display. I know it's been out for most of the year, with Jacuzz1 providing some amazing feedback and images of his purchase.
Right now the display retails at DELL for ~1500.00.
I'm wondering, if I should wait for a newer display (new technology with more generous inputs) or to just pull the trigger on this display (Dell 3007).
I mostly game (FPS mostly with some simulation and adventure gaming). I currently have a single 7950 GX2 card on an Opteron AMD dualcore setup.
I've read that there are PVA and IPS displays (not entirely sure what the advantages are of these formats) and am wondering if a 30" + display is imminent with newer features and better compatibility with 1080p signals from HD/Blu-Ray technology.
I have every intention of purchasing a very large screen TV in the future, but in the meantime, I would not mind using my computer monitor as a go-between while I work my way to a large TV (especially with consideration of the PS3 and it's onboard Blu-Ray player coming).
So basically, I want a computer monitor mainly for gaming, and possibly an interim BLU-RAY/PS3 display while I save up for a large screen HDTV.
I've seen you all pour on praise for the DELL 24, BenQ, and other manufacturers (Westinghouse). But in the end, I want to be happy about replacing my 19" Sony LCD display with a good computer monitor that I can enjoy gaming and possible movie watching
I await your thoughts and suggestions Hard members!
