Where, oh where, have the ATI Crossfire Editions gone?

Seriously.

I just made the jump to ATI, got an ATI X1900XT (stupid X1950XT two weeks later... *shakes fist*) and was about to get an ATI X1900 Crossfire Edition. But there are no more.

Since I'm new to ATI, can I use another brand X1900 CF? Which would you recommend, brand-wise? I use eVga for nVidia, but I know nothing about ATI brands.

Thanks in advance and all that.

Brand's shouldn't matter although similar looking boards are always a plus. A 1950CF also works from what i've seen as well.

Ok...I guess I could have been a little more clear. I was looking for an ATI BRAND X1900 CF card. Out of the 6 links provided, one was ATI branded and they are 1) out of stock and 2) $525.

So. As anarchist pointed out, I guess I can use another brand, but I like "matching sets". I will wait till they return, or try to find an X1950 CF.

Thanks anarchist...

When is the is the x1950xtx crossfire edition going to come out? and if ATI is the main manufacturer of them why isnt the x1950xtx being sold on their site?

Everywhere I have seen says "1-2 Weeks" or "Soon". So...soon?

About ATI and their site, I have no idea. The only CF Edition cards listed are an X1800 or a bundle with X1600. If they make the cards, you'd think they would have more than that. That was partly the reason for my initial question.

If I didn't already have my ATI X1900XT, I think I would have looked at another manufacturer... HIS cards look good... but they seem a bit overpriced. The ATI X1900 CF, when in stock, seems to be ~$375. The HIS X1900 CF is ~$500.

I don't know...in my experience SLI is just so much easier...no tracking down a specific type of card. Just get two 7900GTXs and enable it via the drivers. But now I'm ranting and off-topic...

:(

I know you said you like matching sets, but my unmatched brands really work fine together.

I'd like a X1950 CF card, too. Maybe one day. *sigh*

I think going the "mismatched" route is the way to go for right now. I shop at ZZF and the Egg all the time, and I'm just not seeing much available...even from different manufacturers.

Dillusion posted links to a bunch of Connect3d cards. I have never heard of them and I also have an innate distrust of people who use numbers as letters. j00 kn0w whut ! m3@n? L0L, R0FL!!!111 (Well, to be fair, that is one way the name could be read...but it was the first thing I thought of.) Anyone have experience with Connect3d?

This is true. Why do you need an ATi branded CF card?

Some people are pefectionists and that is just how they will always do things. I am the same way.

Both cards must be identical in appearance as well as function. For me it's a step worse because I purchase almost everything in pairs. For example I bought two Raptors, two 300GB Diamond Max 10's, and now 2 320GB 7200.10 Seagate drives. When I added the second PSU to my rig it had to match the first one.

Ahhh.. do I detect a little OCD style perfectionism?? heh... I am the same way... I am glad my EK blocks will make my cards appear to be identical. :) my drives were identical until I created two machines from my old drive pair.. doh!

Dang...the truth is out.

Yes, I like matching sets. Maybe it is OCD...maybe it's symmetry. I have no idea. But, again, I don't need an ATI brand Crossfire...but I really, really feel like I should have one.

I'm going to take some meds and lie down. :(
