Dano at Danger Den sent over a set of 7950 GX2 waterblocks last week and I thought I would share with everyone what they looked like. These should be on sale in the next few weeks.

The install wasn't so bad for the video cards, if you have installed a video card waterblock before just take that amount of time and multiply it times 4. The first will take the longest and then the other three will be smooth. It took about an hour to install the blocks.

Anyhow, here is a pic for everyone.

Yea nice case ... what tubing? I never seen red tubes before.. Also can you watercool a wavemaster? I have that same card, just one, and it's very loud. Not a pleasant loud either like a low drone from most video cards it's very high picthed.:(

the single, straight line, daisy chain for those has got the be the easiest config ive ever SEEN for a set of GX2s.

I have no idea on the price but the red tubing is also from Danger Den. Hell everything is from them.

I dunno, the middle connection looks like a PITA.

I would really take off that northbridge waterblock, it's taking water flow from all the other components. It'll do fine with a nice Zalman passive cooler.

I guess the real question is how high an fps can you get playing FEAR maxed out? Oblivion?

Nice looking Rig. Congrats on the waterblocks. How far can you OC those babies with the water?

I am going to start testing how the overclocks and such tomorrow or Thursday. That is a second CPU in the pic, an Opteron 2220SE, imagine two FX-62 procs on one board and that will give you an idea of what this system is. Right now I have to wait for two more memory sticks to arrive so I can use the system with dual channel memory.

Overclocking results will be coming.

5 Raptors in RAID 0? That's damn risky isn't it?

It is on an Areca 8-port controller and I haven't had a problem yet. It allows me to get into BFII, take a plane over and destroy the other teams planes before anyone else is even in the game. By the time the second person is in the game I have already taken out the other teams planes, choppers and am working on the tanks.

Another good thing is dealing with RAR and PAR2 files, those go really quick. On a single Raptor 150 a PAR2 files will fix damaged RAR files at around 15-20 MB. On this controller and 5 drives it fixes them at a rate of 500-600 MB/s.

Anyhow, the idle temps on the video cards is 41 on the first and 42 on the second in the nVidia control panel. This is after a few hours of gaming. I looked at it last night and recorded the temps. This is also with both processors and all 4 GPUs running with one 3x120 radiator, the single row one. I am waiting on a double row to arrive that was out of stock. The radiator is also cooled by 4 92-mm fans and not 3 120. I am also waiting on a carbon fiber adapter to be made by a buddy of mine that will allow the radiator to hook up correctly, right now it is just sitting in front of the fans.

So you use all that computing power to be the first player to base rape? Tisk tisk tisk...

He's obviously an enthusiast beyond the pale of conventional rationality, so risks are part of his forte.

What kind of connectors did they use between the cards? those cant just be perfect seal barbs.... they'd be way too tall. I'm probably going to be getting a full set within a week or so, although I probably wouldn't be able to use them for a while after that. Very nice setup.

You are my hero. You need to make a video of that!

Not to jack your thread, but I have fond memories of flooding a map with smoke grenades in CS and killing my friends while they screamed over vent that their computers (most of which had onboard video) were freezing ;)

Very nice rig btw! You said you basically have 2 FX-62s, that's 4 cores right? Please tell me you have F@H on that badboy! :D

More accurately I think it's the hard drive power that is being used for base raping ;)

The kit comes with two little barbs so you can use them in Quad SLi, they are right around a half an inch tall.

As far as the FX-62 questions, these are Socket F 2.8 GHz Opteron 2220SE chips, they are dual core as are all of the new Socket F Opterons. If anyone has the $ and wants something like this I have several Socket F Engineering Sample chips laying around. Motherboards are starting to come out the but best one I have seen on paper is the one I am currently running, the Tyan S2915 aka N6650W. This is pretty much what AMD is going to release as their 4x4.
