This is for cod2 but applies for all games.

I'm trying to play call of duty 2 on my second monitor, but since it's a full screen monitor i can't drag it to the second monitor.

I tried using a program to mirror my 1st monitor with no sucess.

I'm on a laptop, and any help would be appreciated.

Sounds to me like you need to change the monitor to your primary and your laptop screen to the secondary in the video properties.

Already tried that. The option is nulled out so you don't switch your laptop display off.

All D3D applications will function on the primary monitor, not the secondary.

I think that you are SOL. I have not found anything out there that will change this.

I'm not sure if this will work or not but I think that on some laptops that I have used if you close the laptop the external monitor becomes the primary.

Good luck

unless of course he is using the keyboard and touchpad/eraser thing on his laptop. I hope he isnt using the laptops mouse for gaming, but the keyboard would still work.

Well, I guess all those times that I played F.E.A.R. on my secondary monitor, I was seeing things.

It will work, but many games have to be specifically coded in order to be allowed to run on the second monitor (usually its under the game's display options and you're able to select the video adapter - either primary or secondary - Oblivion is like this). But with a laptop with a game that doesn't allow to be run on the second monitor, you very well might be SOL.
