In what condition did you recieve your monitor? Because im at work and my mom called me and told me ups (newegg) just dropped it off. The guy was actually asking her about our neighbour.. that if my mom knew him and she could give it to him.. luckily he reread the address and found out that it was actually OUR parcel. Ok my mom cant speak english properly so she didnt say anything to him.. but she told me that the box is torn.. theres no tape to close the opening, the guy was flipping it to check the barcode..

So, i hope its ok.. its not a open box or something.. UPS is f***ed up. They should hire ppl with brains who know how to handle stuff and dont smash the damn thing. And was your monitor also like this?

For some reason the box that Newegg ships them in, and I assume the one that ships to them is without any tape - just a flap that holds it all together. I have snagged two of these monitors from the Egg and both of them have shipped this way.

They dont come sealed retail either. I got mine from CompUSA. No seal on the box.

As said above the box has a 4 folding corner latch type system with a handle on the top.

I had two of these monitors. My first did not come with anything over my screne and this is the one whos DVI port blew out (I hooked it up to a computer while it was turned on and it blew the DVI socket on the back of the LCD (not the cable) so I won't do that again)

My second one came with a LCD protector shield on it saying some of the specs of the LCD.

I am not sure if it was just random packaging or what, but the backlighting issues are MUCH better on this one and I have no dead pixels.

I bought both of mine from a Local B&M store.

Ok, thanks for the info.. the box was very damaged but monitor is ok and no dead pixels.. just that in black the 4 corners have lighter black.. but maybe playing with the brightness / contrast etc will fix that? im glad this is in good condition.. and its a great monitor :D
