Too Cheap to buy an HDMI Cable - Priceless

I look forward to reading continued bashing of Sony from all the "poor and pissed off" people, while im playing my PS3 with the 20 dollar HDMI cable i bought.

Christ, I can't think of one expensive piece of electronic equipment that came with an expensive peripheral or accessory.
iPod's come with the cheap iPod headphones which are absolutely horrible and probably cost Apple $5 to produce.
I don't know of any HDTV's that ship with HDMI cables or, for non-HDTV's, component cables.
My home theater system didn't come with an optical digital in/out cable.
Shit, even cheap shit don't come with batteries.
I'm sure there's exceptions here and there, but for the VAST majority of electronic equipment, you should always look to spend more money on it than the pricetag.
Anyone with a brain should know this.
Yeah well with the Premium, you're paying for more, so it evens out by default.JethroXP said:Unless of course you purchased the premium Xbox360, which does come with Component cables, and a CAT-5 cable, and a headset, and a media remote...
Comparing the PS3 to other high-end A/V components is one thing, but I think it's far more appropriate to compare it to it's closest competitive product. And when doing so, it leaves you wanting (or in this case, needing) more.

But that's fine.
Let's even the playing field, then, shall we?
What's more expensive... an HD-DVD add-on (AND an HDMI cable, which I'm fairly sure won't come with one)...
...orrrr just an HDMI cable?
Hmm...
JethroXP said:Ahh young grasshopper, you assume too much. The HD-DVD drive is an accessory. You don't have to buy it, nor do you need it to enjoy Hi-Def gaming on your Xbox360 out of the box. Sony forces you to buy a Blu-Ray drive if you want PS3, whether you need it or want it, and yet they still force you to purchase an additional cable just to be able to use it for Hi-Def gaming. Keep in mind I'm not talking HDMI here, I'm talking component. The Xbox360 premium comes with a component cable so that you can enjoy Hi-Def gaming out of the box. The PS3, whether $499 or $599, does *not* come with either an HDMI cable *or* a component cable. Like I said in a previous post, with the PS3 it's "Welcome to next gen Hi-Def gaming, the line for the extra cable you need to buy to actually do that begins over there..."

monoprice.com has like any type of cable for cheap. If you really think that $600 is a bad price for the PS3 but are still shelling out the cash, what is $610 to you?

does it come with RCA cables? (you're kidding , right?)
Sony's Website said:* Video output in HD requires cables and an HD-compatible display, both sold separately.
I'm just saying... with all this HDMI talk, it's obvious you (not just YOU, but I'm talking about the forum as a whole and the OP) have an HDTV and are interested in high-def movies and games.JethroXP said:Ahh young grasshopper, you assume too much. You want high definition movies and content on both consoles, this is what it's going to cost you... that's what I meant by leveling the playing field.
But, I suppose you're right about the HDMI cable for 360 part.

Heheheh, oh how the newbies buying their first good bike used to grouse about that, we sent more than one ride out the door with plastic platforms because after dropping $2400 on their SE1 they decided they were broke.Psychotext said:I had that happen to me recently, except it was a very expensive mountain bike, with no pedals!
