Hello,
I need some help with my video card problem, it appears when I'm playing games. As I dont know the term I'll just post the screen shot. What I need to know is, is there a way to fix it. Thanks.

How about some specs? CPU, mainboard, GPU..etc. Besides that my sons computer does the same thing in certain games. So my next question is.. Is this the only game it appears in?

They are called Artifacts and could be a result of a few things.

1) it could be because of overclocking. but because you didn't know what they were called i'm assumeing it's not that.

2) overheating. Check to see if you have a proper flow of air and the card is clean

3) update your drivers to latest version

4) It's possible you just need a video card that can handle wow.

And yes some spec's would be mighty helpful

Thanks for the quick replies.

specs are:
Radeon 9800 Pro 128
P4 2.4 o/c-ed to 2.6
1G of RAM
Asus P4P800

I already update the driver into the latest one. And I'm using 1680x1050 resolution on my desktop as well as for the game.

I only play WoW on this pc, so I can't tell about other games.

I had a similar problem with a radeon 8500 lol. It actually had a bad memory chip. It would run fine in 2d but as soon as you srtated to game it would artifact. I ended up replacing the card. I'll give you a shout out for system specs I have the same maindoard as you. It rocks when it comes to overclocking. Which could be could be an issue with the artifacting. Did you set the AGP divider? By this I mean when you oc the FSB you also oc the AGP/PCI rate. Try to set it back to default FSB and see if you are still getting these issues.

I'm not sure whether I oc the AGP rate, but I remember that I played with the AGP rate using some kind of GPU oc app. Anyway, I run ATiTool and my core speed is at 378 and memory speed is at 338, according to ATiTool that's the default setup. I don't know much about o/c-ing, well almost none I guess. And I already set the FSB to its default setup, clean the dust out of my GPU, updated my GPU driver. I'm gonna take a look whether the artifacts are still there.

If you used the ATi Tool than that's probably your problem. You need to knock the clock settings down a bit. And use the Artifacte checker to find any. But let it run for more thatn 10 minutes.
