Well i got all my stuff installed, finally got my processor and start it up. I plan to boot off a 160 gig raptor, put two 320 gig 7200.10 drives in raid 1 and just have another 300 gig.

Anyways, i figured it'd be easiest to just use the EZ-backup raid thing on this motherboard. But when i hook my two 320 gig drives up to the two orange EZ-backup connectors as it says to do in the book, only one of them shows up in the bios. It seems to be that only one of the orange connectors is functioning. If i connect a drive the forward most connector, it shows just the same in the bios as when i have two connected. If i connect just one drive to the rear most connector it shows nothing in the bios as if nothing is connected.

So, are one of my connectors on the mother board bad or am i missing something here? I've already installed XP as the manual says to do and installed EZbackup and it just shows nothing... *shrugs*

Any ideas?

I've also confirmed the drives are set to 3.0GB/sec. No matter what drive i put on the rear most EZ backup connector it doesn't show up in the bios. I've made sure my wires aren't bad... updated the bios. Ugh...

This EZ backup raid isn't very EZ.

Hi yaric,

Just a couple of things you can check;

1. Make sure that the 2 jumpers for the RAID_SEL jumper section are set to RAID 1 (1 jumper on each end of the row of pins)

2. Check to see if the EZ Backup RAID is enabled in the BIOS. Enter the BIOS and go to Advanced > DH Feature and set the EZ Backup RAID Mode Change to Enabled.

Obviously these things are mentioned in the Manual but I thought I'd cover them just in case you overlooked them.

Cheers.
